The perfect Xmas tipple. Goes great with natural oysters.

Over the past few years barrels have been kept aside from classification tastings to go into a sharply priced non vintage sparkling red.

The base wines are predominately French oak matured Shiraz from McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. Rounding out the blend are small percentages of Cabernet Sauvignon of up to five years of age. The inclusion of older base wines were to provide complexity and depth to the palate and aroma.

"Deep crimson red in colour with an enthusiastic mousse. Lifted aromas of subtle raspberry and plum cake backed by subtle spices. Rich and with a velvety textured palate of forest fruit flavours interwoven with dark earth, cardamom and a hint of toast. The long length of persistence is supported by soft acidity, a hint of sweetness and supple tannins. Drink now to 2030.” - Winery Notes

Thanks for the heads up. Always good to see what the competition is offering.
I can't see how the Wine Envy offer includes shipping but I may be seeing it wrong.
The Jim's Cellars offer is pretty much the same but with a lesser shipping charge so probably an offer worth taking up. Unless you're buying enough to meet the free shipping threshold, in which case they are exactly the same.

it does not appear to be "La Petite Cuvee is Duane Coates' premier vintage sparkling red"

    https://www.coates-wines.com/products/sparkling-the-shiraz-c…

    • That's "The Shiraz Cuvee", not La Petite Cuvee.
The La Petite Cuvee text from the Coates site says:

"The Cuvee Shiraz is our premier vintage sparkling red. Over the past few years barrels had been kept aside from classification tastings to go into a sharply priced non vintage sparkling red; La Petite Cuvee."

  • Noted and amended. Thanks
