28 Degrees Shopper Protection - Have to Initially Purchase from an Aus Retailer?

PDS says:

"If you buy an item in Australia with your Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard and within 12 months the item is available at a lower price in the
same retailer or any other Australian retailer, we’ll pay the difference between the purchase price and the lower price to your account. "

As they don't say "If you buy an item from an Australian retailer" like they specifically say the lower price has to be with, it's slightly ambiguous to me whether it's me who has to be in Australia or the item.

I suspect it's the item location as they wouldn't know where I am, but just on the off chance, thought I'd ask if anyone's successfully claimed for an item purchased from o/s.

    my history with claim from them seems to be that they're not that pedantic (check if an website has au domain, or registered with ABN or GST) so just chilled and relax. At worst just buy something from Aliexpress and try if you get knocked back.

    I've not tried this programme, is there an excess? Surely ppl are claiming all the time for tech that goes down in price?

      cant opt in anymore, but yes its very good for tech and ebay sales.

      No excess, I use it to buy console games, computer parts etc, saved me thousands.

    You know what it means when they say "In Australia"….. As in from a retailer/store in located in Australia, not you physically being in Australia buying something from overseas and then price matching a Australian retailer.

    Yeah, it's only the inconsistent phrasing, slight ambiguity and overall generosity with their claim approvals that had me pausing on it.
