Anyone Have Experience with This Tower Fan? Arlec 117cm Digital Tower Fan

Has anyone tried this fan ? Its listed $99 from bunnings. Seems to be good value but not much specs or reviews on it, it has an app and some decent functions.
The features I'm interested in are :
- blows air with rotation
- has a silent/sleep mode
- led screen turns off (so you can sleep)

If not anyone have a recommendation for another tower fan similar price?

Thanks

I would hazard a guess and say that like most pedestal/tower fans in that price range; it's garbage.

Get yourself a Vornado air circulator if you actually care about trying to improve air circulation/ventilation in your home. These things can push a huge volume of air around and actually help to save on your power bills in summer by reducing the amount of time you need to run A/C (as they can help move that cold air around faster and further) and/or eliminating the need for A/C entirely on milder days (I find unless the temperature hits above 32C in my house, I won't actually need the A/C at all and will just run my Vornado fans and open a few windows slightly).

The other problem with most pedestal/tower fans is that they're excessively loud, even on their so-called quiet/silent setting.
The Vornado models will actually allow you to sleep in a bedroom with the fan on the lowest setting.

I tried out about four different pedestal fans before buying my Vornado 660s and all of them were disappointing in some way; either they had feeble airflow even on the highest fan setting that wasn't going to help move air throughout the whole house or they were ridiculously noisy (and rattled/squeaked/made strange motor noises). They also took up way more space than the Vornado 660.

Ooo the vornado looks good, ill have a look thanks.
Edit: just bought one after looking at reviews and the design. Almost double what we had in mind, but if it works as well as it says, it'll be worth it. Thanks mate!

  • We have the Costco tower fan. https://www.costco.com.au/Home-Furniture/Heating-Cooling-Air…

It works very well, surprisingly the air that comes out is very cool. It was $90 in store. I leave it on the lowest setting for a couple of hours when I go to sleep.

We have the vornado as well and this is better. There is no timer or swivel on the vornado and it is very noisy as well.

    • nice one, i will try the vornado and can return it if not satisfied. that seville fan is what I was looking for, but damn is it ugly to look at haha.

I bought this exact one a few weeks ago, and found your question while writing a review. For the price, I'm finding it great. Reasonably quiet, and can push pretty strong from across my bedroom, corner to corner. You also don't have to use it's own app. Any of the similar apps seem to work with it (Tuya Smart Life, brilliant smart, Mirabella). There's also a temperature display, though it seems a little off. I'm guessing because it's within the tower itself, not external.
But anyway, Bunnings seem pretty liberal with their returns of it's not your cup of tea, but personally, highly recommend.
