  • Just out of interest are the sizes weird? Are these mens?

39 is the smallest available and I thought that was a pretty common ladies size.

  • I have never heard of this shop…

    • +3

They’re reputable. International retailer, I think may be based on the UK or Hong Kong. Sells expensive fashion stuff that Ozbargainers usually wouldn’t touch anyway.

      • +1

        So this site is legit?

  • +2

$20 for shipping rate is a bit too high

    • I think it's shipped from overseas.

      • +3

Comes from the UK via DHL.

Size down a full size in Birkenstocks.

    • Dammit wish I saw this

    • Agreed, although these guys do free returns. Couldn't be bothered returning last time and just lived with it.

    • Wait does that mean buy a smaller size than usual?

  • -1

    These are for men?

  • Code invalid
turns out it need to be non capitilsed i.e extra10

      • +1

Has the code expired? I'm getting "Discount not valid in your shipping country"

        • Looks like it's been Ozbargained. I got an email from them saying it ends today, but now in fine print it says:

*Not valid in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and United States.

For sizing, their site gives a good illustration of best-fit

    https://www.birkenstock.com.au/sizing

  • Hopeless measuring site

  • EXTRA10 worked for me?

I don't need another 2 pairs of Jesus shoes but I bought them anyway. Cheaper than getting the soles replaced by Birkenstock Soul and the stupidly long turnaround time.

  • So I should not buy my usual Birkenstock size?

    • +1

Only if you want them to fit

  • Jesus shoes. Bought some.

    Mens Birkenstock

    No such thing

  • Grabbed a pair, thanks OP

  • Thanks OP, good price!
I don’t know why people say to get a size smaller in birkos, I’ve always got my regular shoe size and they fit great.

    • If this supplier is in the UK, I'm guessing they were converting between AU vs UK shoes sizes like 7, 8, 9, etc.

      'If you're a 7 in Australia, you're a 5 in the UK' - https://www.finder.com.au/shoe-size-conversion-guide

I usually think in metric, e.g. 43 seeking to avoid those similar number confusions

  • Do you need to use a card that has nil foreign transaction fee with this store?

    • I’d say so. Just to be safe?

    • Nope

  • Has anyone got a confirmation email yet?

    • yes - email was time stamped immediately after my order - but took maybe 35 minutes to appear - AU is a long way from the UK on those congested undersea lines - probably via the US and Guam ?

  • tx for notice - I've just ordered another pair at $67.70 [with free packaging!] incl $20 delivery who knows when (from UK? I chose not to pay another $20 extra for 3-4 days delivery)

same as the blue Arizona I've been wearing for ages and have already repaired a couple of times and still wear most non-cold days.

from experience, cheap white PVA glue is the go for filling/fixing cracks in the cork base - and I sanded/glued/nailed some DAISO heel rubbers onto the worn rear sole to avoid the smooth surface slipping on wet pavements - you don't want that nasty - similarly I just used a kitchen carving knife to carve a few lines across the slippery smooth under the ball of my feet

another thought - maybe NYTimes I read a review recently saying they preferred the blue (fake leather) straps as more waterproof and rinse clean compared to genuine leather - I'm happy with my blue (probably fake leather) straps so I just ordered another pair

knowing I'm usually size 43 metric I've ordered that size and hope I'm not screwed after looking at the stamps on my existing pair which seem to read (worn) something like 41 265 near the heel, and 47 67 stamped under the midsection - WTF ?

      uh oh - mistake !

quick delivery - from England !?!? - ordered 15/12, received 20/12 - from the other side of the globe? wow.

product looks good - authentic Made in Germany Birkenstock - says all leather uppers (blue straps) so OK there

but - size is way too big - the shoe length is nearly 2cm too long and ain't gonna be comfortable

with straps on the tightest hole front strap, second tightest hole back strap I can maybe wear them awkwardly

but dayum - how annoying is that when you order a standard size and what you get is way different

on closer scrutiny of the worn number on my old shoes I now see it was size 41

      I ordered 43 - thus the extra 2cm - so that's farqued - $67.70 for that WOFTAM

being everything is obvious in retrospect, I'm now recalling a comment hear saying 'buy 2 sizes smaller'

      so yeah - do that or something {grumble}

      • update - I emailed matchesfashion to ask if I could exchange the wrong size 43 for the correct size 41

they replied that they don't do exchanges, but I could return the wrong ones for free (requires registration/login) and then re-order the correct size

I checked the website https://www.matchesfashion.com/au/mens/shop/shoes/sandals?q=… and found that blue Arizona was A$53 but was out of stock in size 41, but I clicked on WishList to inform me if/when it becomes available.

So I'll now probably register a return for the wrong size paid on their website, then wait to be notified if/when they have available stock at a price I'm willing to pay.

        • Did you end up returning them? I'd be happy to buy the 43s off you if you still have them? (Sydney Based)

    mine arrived already. how?

    • Same! Just got them 30 minutes ago.

  • Got mine this morning too. That was quicker than expected.

  • Delivery from Uk to the door in less than 4 days! Now that is fantastic.

    Shopback is still tracking..

Very cheap price. Very quick delivery. By far the best packaging I ever received from an online retailer. The Birkies, well they're Birkies. Thanks to MATCHESFASHION

  • +1

DHL delivery time from overseas puts Australia Post's domestic delivery time to shame.

  • So I found the shoes far too big but I don't have it in me to return because MATCHESFASHION packaging, updates, and delivery time were exceptional.
