Great price but please note that no all 7 11 stations supply 95 fuel. From my experience most of them do not.

    • +3

Recon missions with your chopper are necessary to identify targeted stations. 😁 Nothing worse than having no fuel in the land mobile and having to pay full price! 👍

    • Possible to check via Google maps

From my experience most of them do not.

Depends where you live, for me, I have to travel out of my way to get P95, this is a fair comment.
When there's an epic 98 price at 7/11, it works out cheaper for me to grab P98 over P95 (my car is 95 RON min)

      Warning added to my post

And not all supply E10 either, my local does not.

    • There are like 2 stations in the ACT supply 95, dunno why…

  • -1

    thought was 98 dammm

  • So what do i do to get this price at another 7-eleven? Or does it only work at this one

    • +1

As per the app's official T&C's, you can lock in your lowest price out of the nearest 5 x 7/11 stations around your present location (as per the location that your phone is reporting), to generate a fuel lock voucher to be used once in the next 7 days.

You can use the Fuel Lock Feature to check fuel prices near your location even if you don't want to lock in the price. The App will usually communicate with 7-Eleven’s system and identify up to five 7-Eleven Stores that are closest (within a 250 km radius) to your current location and have your preferred fuel type available, and identify the cheapest reported fuel price of your preferred fuel type at those 7-Eleven Stores (Our Best Local Price). If the App cannot identify any 7-Eleven Stores with your selected fuel grade within 250 km of you, or is unable to check the fuel price from 7-Eleven’s systems (for example, due to communication or system issues), the Fuel Lock Feature may not operate and no Our Best Local Price is displayed

Once you lock in the price, you can go to ANY 7/11 store to redeem.
Note, not all 7/11 stores have P95, you may want to use the store locator function to check first, whether using the 7/11 app's store locator or the website's store locator function

Thanks OP - This is a great price, compared to the recent historical pricing.

Still got my 141 from Sunday, taking my car for a joyride on weekend 😋

  • Just get their app and price lock once you're in the area. Then you can redeem that price at any 711 anywhere up to a week later.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Cwong!!!

  • Watch out, may have already been reported by newbiesh aka 'just reported this to 7/11 let's see how long this one takes to be changed.'!!!

    • +8

Don't get baited into believing they have the power to change it by calling up 7/11

These prices get updated when Moonee Ponds refills their 91 tank (when the fuel tank trucker arrives to that station)

Can be anywhere from 1 hr to 1 day

    What's the difference between 91 and 95, is 95 like a middle ground between 91 and 98?
Just saw a comment saying their car takes 95 dies that mean they can't take 91?

    • +2

You should be filling up the fuel type that's labelled on your car's fuel door

      RON is Research Octane Number
      Another video for your information

Higher RON = can resist higher compression ratios which is typically found in higher performance cars

Compression ratio is for the air-fuel mixture within your car's engine's cylinder.. so it's a fixed value (cylinder volume doesn't change, the piston movement which does the compression also doesn't change)
Lower RON used in a high compression car means the fuel-air mixture will self-detonate too early in the compression-stroke cycle. Normally it's detonated by the spark plug.

98 RON fuels normally have additives as well, specific to the brand, but the base fuel across brands is the same.

According to this comment, 7/11 Special Unleaded (91) also has additives
I can't speak for the validity of that comment, but their other claims do check out check AIP documents to see that there are really only two refineries in Victoria, which is consistent to the information presented by this OzB User (El Grande)

      • Thanks for that… my dad fills up his car with 91 even though his car accepts 95 and above. He says the car works just fine… What are the actual effects of an early self-detonate fuel-air mixture?

        • Same my dad puts 91 doesn't matter if it says 95 or 98.
I assumed all three would be the same but the higher you go the better for the engine and more mileage you get.

        • What are the actual effects of an early self-detonate fuel-air mixture?

Supposed to have "pinging noises" (also called engine knock) in the engine which will cause damage to the engine long-term

I assumed all three would be the same but the higher you go the better for the engine and more mileage you get.

They're supposed to have the same energy density shrug

  • What happens if you use 95 on 91 fuel car. Will it have a slight better mileage or clean the tank?

    • Slightly better mileage, I always use 95 on my Toyota corolla and better performance when climbing hills.

    • -1

depends on the age of the car, ie, the engine..
      from experience & my own record, 2016 & 2019 corolla gets better mileage from 95 & 98.

cleaning the tank.. it depends if u get the one with cleaning agent, which i believe for shell is called V power.
cant say if it's a marketing gimmick… I'm just happy with the 15%-20% extra mileage from 98 :)

    • My batmobile is 91 min, but I notice less pinging with 95 and 98.

Glad to see the noobish idiot got banned for trolling.

Bet he just didn't have a chopper

Update: the 95 discount has lasted this long because newbish couldn’t comment that s/he has called 7/11 and made them change it. /s

    • Pm me

  • What's the average price in Shell? I still have the 10c per litre off from the MyCar tyre deal.

Yay back at home and still able to run chopper! I will help anyone else for the next 10 minutes if needed.

    • -2

Are you still available to help lock in?

@krishnaprakash1: I didn't say I was going to carry out a fuel lock?

I don't do them anymore due to this

Each person I help will cost me 5 minutes per lock.
Let's say 1 lock per month per person (normally it's much more frequent), means 12 locks per year, or 1 hr of my life per person that I help (annually)
Multiply this by the amount of people that I would have to help, you can see how my valuable time can get burned up very easily.

  • can we still signup for another account easily? i had another account that uses the [email protected] n it seems not working anymore… trying to sign up using another email address but can't seem to find the correct website!?

    • +1

Use the . Trick. You can put the . Wherever you like in a gmail address and it’ll send though.
For example [email protected] can be [email protected]

    • My account is stuck on 6 visits and won't go to the free 7th visit

I don't think I can use my Fuel Lock if it's stuck on 6 visits which sucks

  • Cmon Chopperettes I have messages they need more juice .
Its too close to normal price,

  • Still available, glad to see prices down a little bit finally.
