Scam Messages Using ShopBack Name

Just received a WhatsApp message from an Indonesian number with a fake job ad redirecting to a dodgy link with ShopBack name on it. Obviously a scam and didn’t click on it. Anybody else received these? I reckon it’s a safe bet assuming this is the result of the ShopBack hack of some time ago

As opposed to the regular scams run by the legitimate Shopback website? When your clickthrough just magically doesn't work if your cashback is promised to be a big amount??

    Sorry, I digress

I get watsapp messages from Malta LOL
Just report and block. There are so many scams on, and your number is usually published on your packages. So they have your name, address and your number.

    • HOW DO THEY GET NUMBER FROM OUR PACKAGE?

      • alot of sellers print it on the label (its pretty standard with eBay sellers)

        • how does someone from malta access said labels tho

          • @capslock janitor: its not from Malta. they stole someone's number from Malta.

there are ways to pretend you are from a different country.

Agreed so many scams going on it’s a disgrace. I recently felt the need to educate my parents in being aware of internet / phone scams as they often take advantage of the elderly and most vulnerable people out there.

  • cant u post this in the shopback thread instead ..

  • Delete my ShopBack account awhile ago….after they were hacked…
