Oops, I duped you. Great bundle!

  • Huh. This is actually quite a decent value bundle for Quest VR.

    • Yep, I currently have so many titles incomplete + $150 in referral credit. I really shouldn't buy this, but….

      • How did you go about getting referral credit to spend on the Oculus store?

The thought of having to buy more games on again another platform has put me off getting an Oculus for VR.

        • +1

Referral credits are from referrals when new users activates their Quest 2 headset.

For Store credit, it can be used to purchase any games on the Oculus store.
When you click on a game, under the price section, it should say 'A$XX.XX Store credit remaining'. clicking on the price button should give you an option to purchase the game with the store credit. Can't remember but i think it forces you to use the store credit first before allowing you to pay with real money.

You can't use promo code with store credit and also can't use VPN to Canada for the cheaper CAD prices either. Has to be in AUD.

          • +1

@iamtezr: So it requires for somebody else to activate a new headset via your unique referral.

I've acquired some VR games via steam through other bundles so will need to look into how easily they can be played on the Quest.

            Thanks for the info.

            • @cheepo: Just buy virtual desktop app

Google if you should buy on quest or stream. I believe buying in quest is better

Then you can do via wifi but your PC needs a graphics card

              • @AussieMark: Cheers Mark. Reading up on it now.

                • @cheepo: Thanks. I researched too but now need a new PC for this lol

                  No graphics card

              • @AussieMark: Why do you need to buy the virtual desktop app? I have PC games I play on the O.Q.2 via Steam but don't use the virtual desktop app, so I'm curious what the benefit is

                • @RichardMelbourne: Some people say Virtual Desktop runs better than Airlink. Others have said it's the same.
Personally I find that Virtual Desktop runs better compared to Airlink but I might just be bias as I've used VD from the start before Oculus implemented Airlink.

The difference would be Virtual Desktop cater for the lower end PC as well as the higher end PC. The optimisation for your PC to run the game wirelessly is better as the dev constantly work with the end user and constantly pushing up updates and new features.

Airlink - not so much, just stolen tech from VD…

If Airlink runs fine for you then keep using it, but if you find it lags or doesn't work too well, then worth giving Virtual Desktop a go. If it still runs bad then there's always a 14days/2hrs refund window.

The performance will highly depend on your network setup as well. (eg. dedicated router if possible, 5ghz, no interference from other devices)

            • +2

@cheepo: Yes, that's correct. The referral system you send them a referral to accept. Once they accept it, then you just have to wait for them to activate their new headset with their FB account that you sent your referral to.

On the Oculus mobile App, there's a Diamond icon on the top right corner. If you click on that, it'll take you to the referral page where you can send it to your FB Friends via messenger.

Also as Aussiemark suggested, you can buy VirtualDesktop or just use the free Airlink function to wireless play your steamVR game.
Look into Airlink. You need to activate it via the PC Oculus app as well as inside your headset under experimental (unless they've moved it somewhere else in settings)

sick been waiting for chrissy to get some non steam VR deals on oculus store so can play untethered. oculus keys make this a must buy if you got a quest 2

    • +2

If you don't already know, you can use the oculus quest 2 with your PC over wireless and it works fantastic.

Got my Q2 recently and couldn't believe how well this worked. I completed HL Alyx without a hitch. I'm still confused why it runs & looks as good as it does and why they don't use the same method for Steam remote play instead of just streaming the screen. I'm sure there's a reason.

        • -1

HL Alyx is one of the only game that's has great optimisation where it runs really well wired & wirelessly. Even with lower end graphics card.
Other PCVR games don't run this well..

Boneworks and Asgard Wrath runs really bad on some machines. Not sure why. People with 3000 series had issues running these games with decent FPS.

          • @iamtezr: Ah that is interesting to know, it's the only game I've played via wireless so that checks out. Might have to check out how other games run before I commit to building out my library on Steam instead of Oculus then.

            • -1

@Madrical: If you're planning to build a VR library for PCVR games, ill stick with steam. You get better deals ;)
Also you're not stuck in the "Meta-verse" and use only their device in case a better headset comes out in the near future.

Games from both platform - Steam/Oculus are the same. So no point paying a higher price and stuck with Oculus only if you can buy them from Steam for cheaper.

          • @iamtezr: Interesting, did not know either, will have to test more

          • @iamtezr: I was running everything fine with virtual desktop wirelessly with a 1070. The only one game that seems to run badly wirelessly from the pc is beat sabre. Gets some weird juddery jump.

            • @RI4V4N: I was running a 1060 6gb model and most games ran fine until I tried Asgard wrath and it was horrible.
Ended up getting a 1070 for extremely cheap so upgraded to that and any game i threw it at it ran fine. Now with the 3070 I haven't had any issues at all. Beat Saber runs fine on all 3 cards BUT if you try to play in expert+ wirelessly then you'll notice there's lags and slight freeze/jumps.
Friends and other people experiencing the same thing in expert/expert+. The easier modes runs fine.
A mate said Airlink was running better in Expert+ in BS than Virtual Desktop. Haven't tested it out myself yet but worth checking out if the issues you're having is playing in Expert+.

I tested it on a Wifi5 and even Wifi 6 dedicated router setup just for the Quest 2 and same result on virtual desktop.

        • It's hit or miss. Alyx runs great, but arizona sunshine runs like shit for me.

          • @SaddenAscentAspirin: does it depend on your machine / graphics card or more the coding / optimisation of the game?

            • +1

@AussieMark: I think it's more with the game. Arizona Sunshine runs fine on my vive, but is very choppy on the quest 2 with virtual desktop.

        • I've been using Virtual Desktop with my Oculus to play steam games. Works great. (https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2017050365004772)

          • @jarrod: I read it's better to use the quest version of virtual desktop over steam. Would you agree?

  • +1

Can you use vpn eg Canada to make this cheaper?

    • +1

To test I connected to a canadian VPN, price came up as 19.35 CAD.

      • +2

Bro that's like 2 dollar cheaper. You are mazing

    • +1

Paid $21.76 with that one simple trick.

      • Did you use the 5% off code too?

        • Didn’t have one

          Oh reeeeee I’m dumb

          • +2

@ColdFusion: That's okay man it's only 97 cents discount lol

I spent an hour trying different vpn combos to save $1

  • How does the redemption work? I cannot find this bundle on the Oculus app.

      1. Buy through link 2. receive game keys(codes) 3.redeem on oculus app.
    • +2

It is not sold by Oculus, it is sold by Fanatical. You have to buy it on the Fanatical store, they give you keys, Then you redeem the keys in the store code section of the oculus app. If you've bought a steam game elsewhere and redeemed on steam, its like that.

Has a few steps but can actually be useful - if you already have some of the games, or some of them aren't your cup of tea, then you can give the codes for those games to someone else.

      • -6

Give? GIVE? This ozbargain not ozcharity. I run sell for at least 50 cent

  • +1

Reviews on the games anyone? Is it worth it? Have an oculus quest but only really ever played beatsaber haha.

  • Zombie land is damn fun… the rest… not sure.
Death lap looks like a barf fest for me personally

    • Accounting plus is great. By the Rick and Morty guys

  • I'd only post gloomy eyes. Sculpting one and maybe giant one ..

    Mainly after fitness games

    • Zombie land is pretty fast paced… racked up a few calories on oculus move

  • anyone know if this deal can be redeemed in another country, want to get for my niece in europe

    • +2

Click on 'Check country restrictions' to see if it activates for that country.
But there shouldn't be any restrictions on the Oculus code. It's just a game key that i know works globally as i've used a key provided to me from someone in the US.

You should be able to provide the Oculus Key to your niece for her to add to her oculus account.

      • great thanks

  • I just purchased the bundle. I am unable to redeem any of the codes in the oculus app on my PC. Not sure if it's me having an ID10T error or what. I have logged a support ticket with fanatical so fingers crossed

  • Anyone going to try the caliber reloaded for 60% off?

  • You can save $2 by using any VPN country

Every other country is $21.10 AUD… Why we have $23.19

I checked 53 countries to test it. Need nap now

    • I can now buy something from the $2 shop! Yay!

  • Some of the codes have lower case letters but when I enter them on Oculus app they come up as upper case and code doesn't work.

Now I bet you are going to say that you have to copy and paste. I would love to but when I try to get into my new Fanatical account on my phone there is no way to log in. Press where that will be … nothing.

    And prices are in pounds.

    • Try accessing the oculus link above on the PC. Bit sure if codes are emailed also…

My keys are pending so I'll see how I go

    • +1

the codes shouldn't be case sensitive. Oculus will show it all in caps.
If you're on your phone then access this via your phone web browser after logging in
Or just access this link on your PC.

      https://secure.oculus.com/redeem-code/

    • +1

Silly question but are you trying to redeem the caliber reloaded one@ that one won't work

      • Ask a silly question and you get a stupid answer. Ah, dummy - yes I am. I was just trying to plow through them and didn't look.

        Thanks

        • Hehe that's okay cause it's at the top lol I thought you might be

That one is just for the fanatical store I think.

          Glad it's all sorted

  • +1

Managed to buy it for 20.07 after international fees using Canadian VPN. Took me a few goes as fanaticial detected vpn

Lot of work to save $1 hahaha

    • A true Oz Bargainer

  • Now copy and paste is playing up on desktop app. This is going to be a long hot day.

    • Lol copy them all into word pad or something

I'm still trying to get the 60% off caliber reloaded working on the fanatical store haha

      • Fortunately it was only on one of the games. The rest pasted ok.

        • Yep had the same issue with one of them, it had all weird characters in between each visible one. Manually entered and it worked fine.

  • +1

Anyone got any use for a Gadgeteer code? I already had that one.

    • ill take it please, if it hasn't been claimed yet :)

  • Thanks OP

Your cashback has been tracked from Fanatical✌️

    Hi Mark
Your cash is on its way!
    AUD 0.26
Estimated approval: Up to 95 days

    • You're doing the Lord's work!

  • Awesome deal, just put Zombieland on my wish list last week, the others seem worth a look. You also get a 60% off Zero Caliber voucher. I already refunded that game though.
Skyworld kingdom brawl card game rts?
    Death lap looks alright.
Sculptr VR might be cool, similar to tiltbrush, but seems like you can make a world and then 'play' in it like Minecraft. Can also 3D print from it.

If anyone has other VR keys to trade for one of these games let me know, as I'll probably have a spare from other family's account.

    • Why did you refund zero caliber. The Quest 2 version people seem happy but steam people not happy

I was thinking to buy since only $15

      • +1

I guess it would be if you want a multiplayer FPS game on the Quest there's only 3 options to go for.
        1. Population 1
        2. Onward
        3. Pavlov

Those are the 3 main FPS with a big player base that will always find players

Zero calibre and Contractor not so much..

        • Ah thanks.

I want a game where I can fly and exercise but also shoot out of my eyes and attack many things

Can play co op to save the world many times over as we fly together saving the world killing all the baddies but probably leaving a trail of destruction in our path for someone else to clean up

          • @AussieMark: Have you tried Richie's Plank Experience?

You can actually turn into a super-robot that can fly and exercise but also shoot things out of your ey…arms
Also a great game for a get together to let people experience VR. Not so much for those that's afraid of heights

            • @iamtezr: hah i saw that will buy when i can get it discounted :p

      • +1

As iamtezr said. I got all the go to FPS on quest on black friday. All were a bit average, and I wanted to refund Pop One + Onward bundle as well but I was a day late. I haven't really liked any of them, but Pavlov seems alright - zombie mode was buggy and havent played again. Zero Calibre was alright but basically same as others.

If you're looking for a shooter, Grapple Tournament just released and is amazing, even with bots. Hyperdash similar - it has aussie servers, not sure if great player count. And of course Pistol Whip or Superhot

        • Which one is the new time crisis

          • @AussieMark: You talking about Crisis VRigade 2?
            https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5167901379894551

            That's like time crisis

But if you're interested in FPS that's free and good then i would recommend Pavlov: Shack.
It's the free version of Pavlov. Doesn't have all the features of the Full Pavlov version but there's enough content to get an idea how the game is.
There's a lot of players on here too since it's free
            https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/3649611198468269

            • @iamtezr: How's the aussie player base for multiplayer fps? Can you get full games of players from Oceana?

I'm hoping there's interest in Grapple Tournament. By far the most fun I've had in a VR shooter. Hyperdash similar, some cool game modes.

              • @JoeSchmogan: I haven't tried Grapple tournament and not really a fan of multiplayer due to the fact the player base in Oceania is low compared to the U.S.
I had the Quest 2 when it was first released and got a lot of games so finding players wasn't an issue since there was a 'hype' for people to jump on.
I pretty much stopped playing it after a few months as I would expect it to die down. The Oceania player base is always low so if you really want to play with a lot of other players, then getting a good reputable vpn to connect to the US server.
I mainly just play single player nowadays when i have time. Not so much multiplayer anymore. So if i want some grappling type of game, I would just jump into Swarm. Just waiting for Zenith (mmorpg) which i know will have a lot of players in the beginning but like any other games PC or VR, it'll die down and we won't find players online.

            • @iamtezr: @iamtezr thanks man! those the ones

          • @AussieMark: CrisisVrigade2 is now on xmas sale on applab if you didnt get it already

        • I think that since the Population One + Onward was a bundle you would not have been able to refund it since the refund terms state bundles are not eligible for a refund. I also bought that, but the motion sickness experienced during Population One put me off it. Was going to refund it until I read the terms. Interested to know if anyone has successfully refunded bundles before?

I am currently enjoying After the Fall (in teleport mode).

  • Got it with a Singapore VPN for $20.11

And the mystery bonus game for me was "Lichdom: Battlemage"

    • +1

Ooo I got gift of parthax

  • are people redeeming their VPN aquired product codes on their AUS quests with no problemos?

    • Yes oculus codes are global. Not region locked but seriously using a VPN only saved me $1 haha

      • weird its saying unknown error has occured when redeeming this code, bought using spain vpn

        • all or just 1 of them. just bear in mind 1 code is a 60% off code for a specific game

and another code people had trouble copying and pasting.. the rest are fine
