    What's wrong with replacing the normal alkalines with rechargeable eneeloops?

      It needs 3, which is awkward. A single 18650 Li-ion would be so much better, or even 2xAA.
      3xAAA means an el-cheapo circuit, no inverter, save 20c in parts.

      And 550 lumen from 3xAAA alkaline?? For a few seconds maybe. Deceptive at best.
