Expired Adobe Creative Suite via NSW Dept of Education

Hi all,
Does anyone know what's going on with the Adobe CC subscription via NSW DoE's Student & Teacher portal?
My Son's subscription stopped yesterday. Only the free apps are working now.

His subscription plan shows 'Adobe for Enterprise, NSW DoE - STUDENT1', and will continue in a NSW Public School for 2022.

(Normal access via https://nsw-students.onthehub.com/ if you didn't already know about it)

Sounds like access has ceased in line with the school year and will be restored next year if they're still a student.

Possibly. Don't recall them doing that last year though.

They might need to log back into the onthehub portal and grab a new one-year code.

    • I tried looking, but couldn't see anywhere to generate a new code.
All instructions point to logging in to the Creative Cloud portal with their educational account.

  • I vaguely remember this happening for my kids a couple years ago.

The license agreement with Adobe recently changed. You are right, in that you need to log in with an education account. This model means that codes aren't purchased but licenses are tied to students education email. There was another change that meant primary students didn't get access to CC either, only high school students have access.
If your son signs into adobe CC and types his @education.nsw.gov.au email and then clicks enterprise account you should be able to activate against that.

I think the main reason for this move is because kids were having their DoE accounts hacked solely to redeem and sell the adobe codes on the "black market" via students on the hub. Students were even witnessing the hackers delete emails right in front of their eyes so that the they can cover their tracks with their hacking.

    • Durn lost access as still in primary. Well great, any cheap way to get PS/LR combo?

  • Yeah same thing happened to me, has been telling me about my subscription for the last month or so I think but now it's expired and I can't use Acrobat Pro. Hopefully they fix it, was much better with the code redemption system because you're not relying on the lowest common denominator intern at the DET rather yourself and your own ability to copy and paste a code into a box. Hopefully should be fixed soon enough, probably by the start of term.

  • apps restored; they're back now

  • Found out my niece is gone today. Will it auto reactivate when school starts? It not longer free "onthehub" and requires $29 AUD a month but on the nsw government version it does say its free.

    edit:

NOTE: For students in Kindergarten through year 6, access to Adobe Creative Cloud is only available at school on school-owned Windows and Mac devices. K-6 students are able to use Adobe Spark via their department user account, both at school and at home.

RIP I found out why ^
