Just saw this on JB Hifis website. Works out to around $10/11 each. There's a pretty big selection. Some titles might be cheaper at big w tomorrow with there sale, but if there's 3 on the list that you want it might be worth it

Also, free shipping -thanks Endotherm

Picked up District 9, Inception and Serenity last week for $30 (though I can't see that on the website now) very happy.

this is the same as the last one posted months ago.
just this time the poster says approx $10 for 3.

I was sure I'd seen similar a while ago but I searched it and couldn't find anything, and it had only just come up on JB Hifis site. As others have said there are alot of different titles now though so bargains to be had still :)

      • There was some discussion on it in the Smurfs Blu Ray post. This deal has been on for at least a month.

  • +1

What's wrong with that? They also included alot of better new titles towards the deal, it's a bargain, cheaper than amazon!

    • For those specifically interested in 3D, "Hoodwinked Too! Hood Vs Evil 3d" (blu-ray review: 66%) was the only new 3D movie I could see in the list (there doesn't seem to be a way to search the entire list easily).

Piranha 3D is also still available.

Polar Express was the only other one I could find.

  • I got the Quentin Tarantino trifecta, inglorious bastards, kill bill 1 and kill bill 2

    • I didn't see those included in the 2 for 1 list. Did you get the discount with those? I added them to my cart and I'm not seeing a discount whereas I can see it when I add any of the blurays listed in the 2 for 1 sale.

Or did you get them in store?

      • I got them in store

  • There are lots more in store too that don't come up in that list.
Yesterday in store i got Hangover 2 (on the list i know), Bridesmaids and Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

Added them all to my cart just now and it didn't make 1 free. I did notice at the store Bad Teacher was also included. Main reason I noticed these at least is that on the JB home page, they are pictured in the promotional image.

    • In store there is also The Change Up included in this deal (P.S - don't bother), and some 3D doco titles.

Apparently JB thinks shipping the 2 paid for items and cancelling the remaining free item is acceptable.

I imagine that it's not common practice but it's still enough that I'd rather do my JB Shopping in store.

When I go to that site it says they're $15.98 each? Did they jack up the prices?

    • Sorry no thats how much they are but when you buy 2 for $32 it works out to about $10 each :)

      • ahh of course. thanks mate

  • whens avatar 3d coming out ?

    • I believe Panasonic released Avatar 3D as an exclusive offer a couple of years ago

Decent sale from JB here, but if your considering buying these via their online store, it may be worth considering that most if not all of these can be had for far less than half JB's price at Amazon.uk/TheHut.com/Zavvi.com, and JB's pathetic 3-4week delivery time (assuming your order even get's completed) is also twice the shipping time of the three I mentioned.

I picked up the following 14 BluRay's for $130 (inc shipping - which was 8 days from order) about a week or two ago from The Hut: Your Highness / Men Who Stare At Goats / Equilibrium / A Serbian Film / Gangs of New York / In The Line Of Fire / REC / Jarhead / Menace II Society / The Mist / Ultraviolet / Devil / Downfall / Unthinkable. That would have cost me over $200 from JB's even with their current sale, not including the 4 movies in that list that JB's don't stock.

Amazon.uk always has good weekly promotions, Zavvi.com has brilliant Mon/Tues discount deals (often it's something like 2 for 10 pounds on movies that are around the 15-20pound cost individually) and TheHut.com does great bulk buy or TV season deals.

    Food for thought.

I had to wait about 3 weeks for my "UP" blu ray last year.

There is always going to be alternatives, if you are into spending time burning discs then all power to you. I'd rather spend $10 on a title I could sell on (should I not like it), than $3 on something ultimately worthless.

Plus I think $10 for a Australian release blu-ray is good, fairly price competitive with Amazon/Hut/Zavvi etc, no waiting and you support Australian business, even if it is the d-bags in JB LOL.

  • +2

No one mentioned that free shipping is included? Perhaps add it to the title?

    • JB always has free shipping (within Australia).

  • I agree that approx $10 per disc is a good price for local Blu Rays…some good titles in this sale.

What I don't agree with are the huge mark ups on premium titles ($30+ for new releases) and box sets such as The Godfather Trilogy ($169 here/$40 from Amazon) and Alien Quadrilogy ($125 here/$25 from Amazon UK).

    • premium boxed sets always cheaper from overseas :)

    • K-mart has/had The Godfather Boxset for $59, a few months back.
It didn't seem like a sale, and was normal price. But I can't guarantee to you that it is still that price now.

  • Just noticed this deal has now ended.
