Suggest Me a 13" or 14" Laptop - Budget up to $4,000

Hi guys

Looking to upgrade my Razor stealth and get something new. Had heart set on Dell XPS FHD but it only comes in 16GB.
What I need is a 13" to 14" laptop which can take 32GB RAM, gives a decent performance, no heating issues, low noise and 6-7 hours of battery if not more.

Lets me know if any suggestions
(No Macbook ..haha)

    What is your budget?

    • 3.5Ks to 4Ks.

  • I suggest to have a look at Dell website and other computer reseller websites and filter for 32GB RAM. Pick a few option that you might like and post here for further recommendations.

By the way, you can get Dell XPS 15 FHD/UHD with upto 64GB RAM.

    • I am after something that is smaller than 15"

Dell XPS 15 is actually very compact. Screen to body ratio is excellent and it’s very thin.

  • Dell Outlet is good IMO. I got a seemingly as new Inspiron 16 for $1639. 32GB RAM. RTX 3060 GPU.

    • Sir - looking for something more compact as per title..:)

      • Twas but an example of Dell Outlet price ;) They also have various 13" and 14" models.

That said, the new thin bezel 15" laptops are about the size of what was 14". The 16" I got is the same width as the 14". Just slightly longer front to back, as the screen is taller and 16:10.

  • If you don't game then you have to consider the MacBook.

  • I don't think decent performance and battery life can come together.

Obviously not a Mac(Book) user :-) Seriously though, new M1 Pro and Max seem to break the laws of Physics in this regard.

      • Agree, MacBook Pro M1 Pro & Max, runs cool, long battery life, mini-LED 120Hz Promotion display, solid build quality.

Suggest running Windows on virtual PC for apps that don't have Mac version.

Typing this on my MacBook Pro 2013. Still going strong.

  • Think it's worth waiting for the i7-12700H?

  • So I am thinking between these ones now

    1. https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/new-xps-15-lapt…

    2. https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-14-/RZ09-03…

    3. https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-7…

Requirements remain same i.e. decent battery life (not below par at least), good performance to manage multiple trading view tabs, multiple spreadsheets, browser tabs etc, no heating issues and not loud
