Air Conditioner No Cold Air?

My car's air conditioner is blowing air out but not cold at all, would this mean it may need to be re gassed or could it be another issue?

        Help me a bit…..

        What is it?
        Age?
Symptoms? Does it blow cold even for a few seconds?
        Do you hear any clicking?
Does the engine change it's revs when you push the AC button?

        • It's a Toyota corolla 20+.years old, no cold air at all, no clicking, no other changes noticed, I thought it may have run out of gas due to its age

          • @alex123711: If there is no clicking, that would suggest a visit to a specialist for some diagnostics.

          • @alex123711: It's about $200 to regas, any other repairs risk getting very exxy.

@Presence: No point regassing if there is a leak

No point regassing if it's full and the fuse is blown

No point regassing if there's a leak and the thermistor is fubar

              Needs diagnosing

Probably a lack of gas or compressor failure. Could also be other ac ccomponents (condenser, evaporator or tx valve)

If lack of gas then it means you have a leak that needs to be identified first.

You clearly have no idea so you will have to see an AC specialist as R134a requires a licence.

    Have fun $$$

    • It's a pretty old Toyota (20+ years) do they ever run out of gas or would it be a leak?

It's a sealed pressured system. If it's out of gas it's leaking.

  • Could be several reasons. Without what model and age of car it’s harder to determine.

My Navara stopped blowing cold AC because the fan control resister blew - but it did stop the fan too. My Forester used to stop being cold unless I reset the climate control temp to hot then back to cold. Never figured that one out.

    • It's an older (20+ years) Toyota

      • After all that time any component could fail or wear out.

        • Yup. Take it to a nexpert.

  • How old is your car? A leak is covered under warranty
