ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 with Ryzen 9 5900HS 2K 165Hz 16GB RAM RTX 3050 Ti 512GB SSD $1899 Delivered + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

160

I believe this is the cheapest price ever for this product. The only issue is 3050ti but it's really good as a productivity laptop because of the 6 speaker setup, great factory calibrated screen, and a good trackpad.

Ah would have been mint If it had the 3060

Obligatory PSA that 3050ti struggles to compete against a 2 generation old 1660ti

This is definitely a good price for this laptop, but, if performance means more to you than the speaker, branding and exterior, for $300 cheaper, you can net yourself a laptop with an almost equal qhd165hz screen, 1tb ssd, 11800h (and before people go off about 'intel bad' and all that, jarrod's tech have benchmarked and 11th gen mobile is definitely comparable to zen3 mobile), 130w rtx3060, 2 sodimm slots instead of 1 soldered +1 sodimm slot, per key rgb with opto mech keys and only 500g heavier so portability is not a concern neither.

    • The 3050 Ti supports DLSS though which can significantly increase performance in supported games. The 1660 Ti doesn’t have this advantage.

You are right in that it can increase performance, but 'significantly' is overselling it. It have half the tensor cores of a 3060 to begin with. You will get better frames for certain but depending on games, it would be anywhere in between 'a decent increase' to 'barely any smoother'. And that is in games that support DLSS. In games that dont, such as the AC vahalla jarrod tested, the 4gb vram will be holding it back signifcantly.

Again, the 1660ti is a two gen old card. Its not exactly a high bar.

    • ^typed wrong. only 50g heavier. the g15 is 1.9kg and this is 1.95 kg
