Looking to Buy a M1 MacBook Air Soon, What Is The Best Way to Save a Buck (Other than AEU Education Store) ?

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a new MacBook Air soon for university once I get a bit more cash on hand. I already plan to purchase it through the AEU Education store, but I was wondering if there are any current ways to save a bit extra (e.g.. deals on Apple gift cards…)?

I saw a similar post a few months ago but I assume things are different now… cheers.

  • Apple refurbished store. Full warranty included. Usually 15% discount.

  • Usually it's 10% down at JB Hi-Fi from time to time. Get discounted gift cards and you can get it for 15-20% off the price.

  • travel overseas too!

  • AEU is cheaper than Education discount usually, but if you can buy during a 10% off deal at JB HiFi, it's usually cheaper again.

  • +3

Wait till Jan 7th (if you can), see what freebie they give for Back to School this year.

  • can you wait till the m2? no date yet, just rumours, maybe as late as march, as early as jan.

Buying that next gen (rumoured to be heavy redesign) will future proof a bit and if apple jacks the price you can still get an m1 - probably cheaper

    • M2 rumoured to be late 2022 not early

    • Assuming the next Macbook Air gets announced around November like the current Macbook Air, I don't think I can wait that long. Plus I've seen the leaked designs and I'm not really a fan of the white bezels. I'll be fine without M2 as I have a home PC that I use for processor-intensive tasks.

      • fair enough i have the m1 air, its utterly amazing ; theres no sense of 'better watch what i do or what apps i run or else ill destroy battery life'

good luck with finding a bargain.

since TGG and JB stock them, using the 12 month $69 plan with $500 GC deal would offset the price nicely, if thats in your budget? then just wait for a 10% off Apple sale?

      • Yea I've got a bunch of JB hi-fi gift cards bought at 10% off waiting for another 10% off Mac's at jb then I can grab a 512gb M1 air for a decent deal. Great for portability

    • I tried pricebeat Officeworks for a silver one and they said nope but would price beat a gold for me lol…

  • silver is a new gold :)
