Amazon - Save with Used - Like New, Am I Missing Something?

I was just on Amazon, looking at a mouse that I've previously bought, the Logitech G502 Hero and noticed an option to select "Save with Used - Like New".

Have i missed this being around for a while or is this something new that Amazon are doing where they are selling their refurbs?

Looks like a decent saving as well, the mouse goes from New at $71.99 to $52.48 as a Used - Like New.

    Am I Missing Something?

    I don't know are you? ;)

These things can be great ways to save money. But warranty can be to be a grey area especially when it comes to devices that need to be activated. This device was activated days/weeks/months before you bought it.
Also full checks aren't really done on the returned devices. Phones/tablets don't appear to have the IMEI checked so you may get a IMEI blocked device.

For a computer mouse id say go for it especially since that is the one I use. :)

Most of those items are customer returns due to change of mind with open box.

      • Yes but that doesn't stop people from buying a device phone/tablet etc and replacing it with a functioning dud (in my case turns on and looks the same but has a IMEI block) and returning it.
That was my fishmas gift a dud IMEI blocked $1000 phone. That someone had bought and did the did the change of mind return.
Amazon just looked in box turns on and off back on the shelf. Device had actually been blocked IMEI wise for over 12 months. Stolen/lost/insurance fraud you know stuff that normally happens with change of mind purchases :p

    • I'll buy that

  • They are not refurbished. They are not used.

    Read the description.
