Help buying a new small, good, cheap screen for pc.

Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone could help me out as I'm looking to buy a new small screen for my computer. I was thinking of paying around $100-200 for a good cheap one around 20"-22" Any suggestions, Links, pictures or if anyone has seen any in store would be great ! :)

(my laptop screen is currently hooked up to my 42" LCD as i cant fix my laptop screen, and recently water got into my keyboard and I had to remove it and use an external one lol. I was even thinking is it better to just buy a new laptop~ if someone could recommended a good one :) My recent one only had 4 gig ram, intell core duo T9400 2.53 ghz, nvidia geforce 9600M GT. )

I'd buy a new laptop instead of a screen… if the screen is not working and the keyboard is borked, it really only serves it's purpose as a desktop replacement.

I would keep it hooked up the TV screen and probably retire it as a living room HTPC, but it's up to you.

What do you use the laptop for? If it's only internet browsing and office docs, then I'd probably recommend something cheap and simple like this Core i3 HP laptop or a Lenovo E520 directly from Lenovo site.

    • I'm with scrimshaw, put the money towards a new laptop rather than put good money after bad on a laptop that is well and truly on its way out (who knows when the water that's killed your keyboard will kill something else ie when it rusts through a circuit?).
While you save up, you could grab an old CRT monitor from the side of the road to keep your "laptop" going if you don't like having it plugged into the telly.

  • I use it for browsing, office docs, playing LoL and some programming.

    • playing LoL

Hmmm, in that case you should spend upwards of $600~700 and get yourself a laptop with a discrete GPU then. Intel graphics isn't powerful enough for LoL. Perhaps customize the E520 from Lenovo website with a discrete GPU.

  • umm.. if you need a cheap screen..

MSY or ITestate (if you are in sydney)

or as ozbargainers do, look for a nice screen, then staticice it..
    find alot of good stuff..

or , get a second hand one off Gumtree..(some decent screens there.. people who got them for free or, students leaving and takes up space)
