in die need for a budget phone even if second hand, which should I be looking for? needs to be less then 300

Luckily for you, ram is the only governing factor of phone speed.

  I suppose even a top of the line IPhone 13 Pro Max with 6GB RAM won't be good enough for OP due to insufficient memory even if the price was right.

      Dam mine only has 3GB and its as slow as a v8 super car due to the octacore CPU. Must remember next time to get a single core CPU running at 100Mhz with 16GB of ram as it will be faster as the OP's post is….. Bangs head against the brick wall and lights out.

Have you looked at second-hand options? Perhaps Google Pixel or a previous generation Galaxy.

They come up on sale, stock runs out, then maybe some new stock, or they’re gone.
