Anolon Classic 8-Piece Cookware Set

CoTD is selling these sets for $199 + post ($10 to Vic). Has anyone purchased these in previous deals that can comment on them? Reviews on amazon are generally favourable, though a few comment on the surface coming off after several years. Others claim they don't, so hard to tell who to believe.

Just after any experiences people here may have had.

  • These are fairly light, have rubbish handles on them for their cost & the surface will crumble off after only a couple of years of use.

Better off saving a little more & paying for something better quality.

I've had a large anolon chefs pan for a couple of years, although mine is from the 'advanced' range. I've been very happy with it.
Also came with a knife….. which is also very good.

    (I didn't get it from here, but here's what I have http://www.yourhomedepot.com.au/products/anolon/covered-chef…)

I couldn't really comment about the 'classic' range……

    • The "Advanced" range is much better, from what I hear. If there's any crumbling of the surface of issues of that nature, it's a straight up 1-for-1 new replacement. None of the bollocks that people who buy the general ranges of this brand suffer through when their product degrades after just a couple of years.

is interesting….. not sure how reliable the information is…. but….

Circulon and Anolon (it is spelled Anolon) are made by the same company, Meyer Corporation. They are both made out of the same material, Anodized Aluminum, and they have the same non-stick suface coating, DuPont Autograph 2. Also, both are triple coated.

As far as Non-stick cookware in general… Follow the rules and you will get maximum life out of your pans. Which in the case of Circulon and Anolon, should be 10-15 years before you see the non-stick surface begin to peel. ALL non-stick surfaces will peel eventually. In the case of Meyer, which offers a limited lifetime warranty… The pan is covered but not the non-stick surface. Meaning, Meyer will re-coat your pan if you send it back to them (dated proof of purchase required), but they will charge you to re-coat the pan. You will also have to pay postage both ways.

    Edit…
On reading around…. it would seem there is a fair bit of difference in the 'classic' and 'advanced' range.

I'd perhaps look to spend a little more and go for the advanced range

  • I didn't hear or even tried about the Anolon Classic 8 Piece Set but I have the Anolon Endurance 6 piece Cookware set (www.keeva.com.au/anolon-endurance-6-piece-set-free-shipping). It works fairly good as I am using these for months already and I can actually tell it'll last for years.

  • I bought the classic set and have been using it for 2 yrs plus now. Really like them. They are absolutely non stick.

The outer layer gets dirty and scratchy though.

Also bought a set for my mother in law and she loves them too.
