Just wondering if I should purchase it directly from Oculus or Amazon? Which would be delivered sooner? Also any tricks to get it a bit cheaper?

I purchased one from each. Amazon arrived sooner, but the oculus one got an extra $80 store credit when registered, even though that promotion had ended before we purchased it.
What are your thoughts on the device itself?

Amazon says delivery on the 25th of January. That seems like a bit much? Surely it'll be sooner?
well so many ozb getting it from amazon so could be low in stock.
but why not buying from oculus store if they give $80 credit?They aren't doing that anymore :(

anyway then no other choice, buy or wait. amazon gift card when on special (like this week at coles flybuys, 20%)
Just pick whoever cheaper, if oculus gives 80 that is great. Amazon gave 100 few months ago that was the cheapest ever (even cheaper use discounted Amazon gift card or amex offer stacks)
Dont forget use referral…Was the Amazon $100 towards the oculus store?

Items purchased from Amazon au as the seller. Eg you could use it on something like the oculus elite strap but not on another strap sold by xy.

Wait for a deal to come along. There have been a few recently as evidenced here best was $379 ($100 Amazon Credit) and then $429 Boxing Day Sales.
Oculus price is lower than amazon last i checked
I'm still waiting for Amazon to restock the 128gb so I can replace my faulty one.
Get it from Amazon, no problems with returns. Haven't seen it cheaper elsewhere
