$15 in lots of stores according to staticice:
    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=corsair+voy…

Wish you would atleast check before posting this "deal".

    • +7

If I understand correctly it is $22 for 2, ie $11 each. However, shipping kills it which make it $16 each.

    • +3

      $15 for one.

This deal is $22 for two.

Wish you would atleast [sic] check before posting this "neg". ;-)

      • +10

Yup. Just saw that immediately after posting. Removed my neg…
        Sorry.

    • +5

Glad you've only got a keyboard. I'd hate to see you that trigger-happy with a gun :)

    • +1

so it's $11 each, so it is a good deal for corsair, about 25% off staticice prices.

But I'm going to neg because of the bogus shipping cost, if shipping was at a more realistic price then I would have gone positive and bought a set, they would be closer to $5 to ship than $10.

      • +1

seriously? The three sites in staticice that have these at $15 all add shipping to that. So with shipping, this deal is $16 a piece. If you are in NSW, you can pick up for $11 a piece. At $16 a piece, they are cheaper than the top three staticice sites if you need shipping and only $1 more expensive if you can pick up from those other sites. If you can pick-up for this deal, they are 25% cheaper.

I can understand that you might not feel inclined to vote positive but to vote negative just amazes me in this case.

        • +5

I don't see how a negative vote for overpriced shipping is unfair, or means that my comment should be voted down, it is a legitimate complaint and deal breaker, we should discourage vendors charging unrealistic shipping prices.

Now, the rep has reduced the price to a more realistic price, and I will change my vote (as soon as I figure out how ; D ).

Though I possibly shouldn't have negged anyway because as branko said, it was always a decent deal if you could pick up, however charging around 2x the actual postage cost is not what I would consider a bargain.

Again, the rep has fixed the issue I had with the deal so I now think it is a good deal.

      • +5

The shipping price is too high and makes this no deal for me. However, I wont neg, because there is free pick up, which would make this a decent deal for those who can pick up.

      • +6

        Shipping's been revised, cheers!

        • +4

Thanks for listening to the feedback and for the quick response.

It appears once you vote neg you can't go positive, so I have also learned that I should reserve my vote till reps have had time to respond.

Anyway, ordered a set and thanks for addressing peoples concerns.

  • +6

Shipping is a bit of a rort

    • +5

yeah.. didn't pull the trigger cos of shipping

  • +3

Is it a good deal ?? I bought SanDisk Cruzer Edge 32GB for $25 delivered from mymemory.co.uk…I thought it was the best price till date.

    • +1

      $15? The title says $10.

      • My bad. That's still higher than what it would cost to ship two small clamshell packages. See below for clarification.

  • +5

LOL… you guys are hillarious… just for making me laugh I've dropped shipping to $6.95… which it what it costs us! actually it costs us $6.60 so i'm making 35c… is that ok? ;)

    Have a great day!

    • +3

Making a profit on shipping = not good

Laughing in peoples faces that you're still profiting from shipping charges = unbelievable.

      • +11

pmupsinep, I should clarify that i wasn't laughing at anyone, I was laughing at the situation and how quickly things can unfold. And as many people have already pointed out, our cost of shipping is more than what we pay for the registered post bag. I've done my best to quickly resolve the issues that were raised and again if my original post did offend anyone, I am sorry. If i could change it I would, but since it's been negatived i can't. I'll be more careful next time.

        • +2

          no worries! misunderstanding. cheers

  • +2

After I login and added the product to my cart, shipping is changed to free pickup, $6.95 standard, or $13 insured.

  • +4

    actually it costs us $6.60

And you's were charging $10 for postage before

    Bad

    • +2

sorry mate, our system calculates based on weight and the weight was set too high. My appologies.

    • +16

I can tell that some people here have never run a business. Postage might be $6.60 but somehow the item needs to get into a package, get addressed and make it's way to the post office. I'm not sure if $6.60 includes even the actual padded envelope or not but you seem to assume that it does.

  • +6

WTH I don't understand why people are negging the deal??? 2x 16gb Corsair USB for $22 seems like a pretty decent deal to me. Just because you're too lazy to go pick it up or its too far for you guys doesn't mean you neg it. Are you going to go neg every other deal just because you can't get the deal?? Seriously OP is trying to share a good deal with the OzB community and people are already hating on it….

    • +2

I have revoked my neg, because rep is trying to sort out problems and has aplogized to a few people

This is OzBargain though, if there's something not right then we have the right to neg it so other people are aware.

      • +1

Thanks xDEFiNE… You're right, it keeps us accountable to the community

  • anyone in Sydney want only one? I'd be happy to pay $13 for one if you can pick it up from JW, or we can pay $14.45 each and have it shipped then meet up in the city.

  • +1

What are the read and write speeds?

  • +1

I don't think this is a great deal. You can get 32GB for $22 pickup at Netplus, or plus $4 delivered nationally. That's better value than 2x 16GB.

    • +2

Probably nice to mention that you are referring to a different brand (not this same drive). The only one @
      $22 is

      http://www.netplus.com.au/product/MYUSLE21-0032/32Gb_Lexar_J…

so I assume that is what you are referring to.

    • +2

And from some reviews, the Lexar one has a slow write speed. (1-3MB sec)

  • +2

The USB 3.0 for $17.95 was much better deal
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/66870

Copying 16gb is going to be painfully slow on USB 2.0

Having said that, I am STILL waiting for my 2 x 32gb USB 3.0 sticks to actually arrive in the mail - so maybe they weren't such a good idea…

Also check your drive when you get it - this became very highly pirated a while ago and you want to make sure you end up with the genuine article…

  • What about 32Gig for $22?

  • i dont care how fast this can read and write. i just want to know how reliable it is. ive lost some important data with the toshiba one i bought from harvey norman.

    • I asked a mate about these a few minutes ago and he told me to avoid them since he's had 4 of them die on him (bought 2 and had to RMA them both, only to have both of those die so he gave up) He said to look for patriot USBs as they are very good quality and faster by miles.

      • Agreed, I had one die on me and now have the Patriot Xporter Rage which write speeds are around 22-25MB/s
Well worth the extra $10 imo.

    • I bought an 8gb version of this I think, Apparently its shockproof? I did test it (not on purpose) I accidently smashed it out while it was in the usb port, now my usb port is deformed and so is my usb head but with a bit of banging and reshaping still works hahaha I believe mine was a USB 3.0 version possibly…

  • +1

Looks like a nice deal.. I checked online and found someones speed analysis (courtesy of Newegg)

    From CrystalDiskMark (2 tests, 100MB):
    Sequential: 28.72MB/s READ | 6.280 MB/s WRITE
    Random 512KB: 28.79MB/s READ | 0.940 MB/s WRITE
    Random 4KB Queue=1: 5.21MB/s READ | 0.011 MB/s WRITE
    Random 4KB Queue=32: 4.79MB/s READ | 0.013 MB/s WRITE

Hmmm temptation.. do I buy it although I don't really need it…

    • +1

of course you buy it, it's the OzBargain way!

Hoarding was a word coined before OzBargain was invented. I'm going to buy it and figure out if I need it later :D

  • +2

seriously whinging about postage??? Totally agree with JDR most of you guys have never run a business before. $6.60 for postage then you need to factor in packaging and the sh!t dont pack itself. You guys really need to direct your whinges to Australia post if you think the postage is too high for your convenience.
sorry usually dont b!tch but this is my #1 pet hate when dealing with customers on ebay when they find out i may have screwed them out of OMG 50c on a product they couldnt get cheaper anywhere else including shipping.

    • Then adjust your item cost rather than the postage cost if you want to avoid that in future.

    • +1

Totally agree - Australia Post are an absolute ripoff - we have one of the highest postage rates in the world - it costs me more to send a letter from Thornleigh to Thornleigh than it does for someone to send me a small parcel from CHina.

Aussie Post are absolute price gougers.

And I also agree 50c for handling is more than reasonable in anyones language - perhaps describe the cost as postage and handling rather than just postage?

      • +3

Thats because australia has one of the largest countries with a small population. They dont actually make a profit from postage they sell it at a loss and make their money from other ventures.

I used to work for australia post and it was a crappy place to work, but i gotta disagree with your complaints on postage prices
