Samsung TV Error Msg 'New Device Not Found’ ‘USB1/2 Power Overload'

Wondering if anyone has encountered this error and found a solution. I have a Samsung TV LA40B650T1FXXY which has begun displaying the message 'New device not found’ ‘USB1/2 power overload' and is having sound and image lapses. The TV is plugged into a Panasonic BluRay Disc Recorder DMR-BWT460GN. I don't have anything plugged into the USB ports at all. From my Google searches, it appears to be a fairly common problem but none of the suggestions I’ve seen have resolved the problem for me. Any thoughts on a fix appreciated.

    Factory reset?

    Firmware upgrade?

    Make sure there's nothing stuck in the USB ports too

    What happens when you remove the recorder?

        Is it still under warranty?

        A phone call to Samsung support 1300 362 603 might be of assistance.

    unplug everything from TV
    then plug just the power in and try it.
