Laptop for Office Work (Especially 15-20 Chrome Tabs) - Budget $1,000

Looking to buy a laptop for normal office work mainly using MS Office and Google Chrome. No gaming.

Requirements:

  • Touchscreen - Helps with one on one client meetings.
  • USB - C Charger
  • Min 8 GB Ram
  • i5 or i7 11th Gen or Equivalent.
  • No Numpad on the keyboard
  • Preferably 14 inches or less.

Looking to spend less than $1000 if possible.

Was looking at these two options - Lenovo Yoga 7i EVO 14-inch i5-1135G7/8GB/512GB SSD 2 in 1 Device

Lenovo Pro For Small Business - Requires sign on to reveal details

Not a big fan of HP, Acer, Asus (please feel free to change my mind)

Are there any better options?

from Chrome tabs RAM is more important than most. if its mostly for browsing any current gen i5 would be fine with 16gb ram. though check out Ryzen 5 series too. Spend your money on a good screen and good wifi card (Intel with wifi 6) unless your wired.

    • Any specific brand or models?

      • Most brands have good and bad models. Lenovo, Acer, Dell are usually good to Check

  • 8GB is not enough for that many chrome tabs

    15-20 Chrome tabs?

    Why so many?

I occasionally find myself with 5 or 6 open but 20 seems insane

20 tabs easy when researching something.

Nothing like the relief of solving the issue and shutting those tabs click click click click click click click click click click click click.

    • It happens at work that some people have 20+ tabs open. Laptop slows to a crawl…

You ask why so many, but most times they dont even realise that 17 of them they are finished with..
MWO,i usually only have 5-6 open max.

    • Thats the max I am expecting the machine to handle. Usually dont have more than 7-8.
