Google Pixel 6 Vs Google Pixel 6 Pro Vs Oppo Find X2 Pro

Hi all.

Having lost a phone and not getting my s*** together before JB sold out of the Vivo X60, I'm trying to make a decision on the above phones. I have a $500 gift voucher from JB so I'm wanting to buy there. My main use will be camera, followed by music, movies etc.

Advantages of find: 512g, possibly expandable, great specs/reviews, great camera esp night mode. Can probably haggle price with JB down to $850. Very quick charge.

Cons: a year and a half old, not guaranteed updates. Already superseded by x3 pro (1499 for 256g) but the x3's camera seems worse.

Pixel 6 pros: good camera, stereo speakers, guaranteed updates, recent model

Cons: no expandable storage and price goes up to 1200 for 256g, not the best camera

Pixel 6 Pro pros: great camera, all of the above. Flagship. Dependable.

Cons: all of the above plus another 300 for a 128g model. 1449 for 256. 1599 for 512.

Any thoughts, experiences etc? My thinking is the find might last two years, the Pixel could last 5. Pro's pros might outweigh negative cost in the long run. But find x2 might do the job and keep me happy for three years at half the price.

Anything I'm missing, based on what you've been doing with any of these phones?

Thanks!

I own the pixel 6 it's best features can be the battery life but it seems hit and miss for some ppl but when it gets going right shit my battery stats are the lowest I have ever seen. And aod drains lower on this then any other brand phone. And it's Google features are best.voice typing and recognition. Google deliberately use better software for there Google stuff it seems. The cameras shit to me compared to my 7t pro. Other then good battery and great Google voice that all I can think of. I can't speak on the oppo I don't own it . Most likely the cameras better the screen fps might be higher the battery life might drain faster then the pixels and U will always be behind in the latest Android software if that means anything to you . Android 12 isn't anything special though. Also Google's phone seems more responsive then my 7t pro maybe they did something better to the whole software to make it scroll better and function better. I would think of the oppo as similar to my 7t pro. Chinese shit software with sick hardware and Google is stingey hardware and pretty dam good software. The Google phone runs hot tho I hope it can be fixed in future it messes up my wireless fast charging when the weather is warm. which it's always warm in summer. I think Google's phone has abit of issues ATM but might be the way better phone in the coming years. The Oppo might be less buggy in regards to being hot and having signal issues tho. so all the phones U mentioned have good and bad points. If ur a camera obesser either the pixel 6 pro or Oppo would be better then the pixel 6.

    • Thank you for that. You've reminded me that I like the look of the voice to text stuff for email, Videos, going overseas and having translation etc on the pixel.

And for the short term the Oppo might be a better but then after a few months the pixels would probably be better when the heating issues and signal issues are fixed. Signal issues might just be Telstra tho I heard they have been shit for a bit now

I have a Pixel 6 Pro. Great camera (however you'll have to adapt if you prefer taking macro photos as this ain't the phone for it), software a bit buggy (right now my phone is on silent, but I can't see the silent bell). Battery life pretty good once it knows how you use the phone. Will this last five years? I'd hope so (or until no more updates are provided); I like Pixel phones, but the ones I've had so far (2 and 4) have barely lasted a year before some hardware issue pops up …

I had find x2 pro and changed to the iPhone 13 Pro.

The x2 pro is the biggest hunk of shit in the world.

Are the hardware, but the most absolute dog shit user interface ever. Battery performance sucks. Why the (profanity) do they still have curved glass screens.

The only thing decent was the underscreen fingerprint lock.

    Please don't buy the x2. It's a gimped pos.

  • Lol at including an Oppo. That’s like saying; should I buy a Porsche, 911 or a GT3 or a Lada Niva… Oppo phones are garbage. There is no way I would be paying Samsung/Apple prices for an Oppo. $850 even sounds like way too much.

I have following issues with my Pixel Pro 6:
    1) Being a OnePlus user, always thought face unlock is a basic feature but not in the case of Pixel 6 or 6 Pro.
    2) Fingerprint doesn't work unless I attempt at least thrice. The phone firmware is up-to-date.
    3) Mobile network signal is to bare minimum or none most of the time. I never had this issue on my previous phones.
    4) A few of you may disagree but after coming from OnePlus 8 Pro, Selfie camera on 6 Pro is disastrous.
    5) The Google 30w so called fast charger took 2 hours 4 mins to charge from 3 to 100%. Technically the phone can handle only up to 23w and 21w wireless. A big shame on Google for deciding to launch flagships with such slow chargers for a massive battery of 5000maH. Mi and OnePlus phones are already out with 120W and 80W chargers.
    6) The phone heats up unbearably after using camera for shooting videos or while charging.

I've finally made up my mind to return the phone and stick to OnePlus.

    • Can't say I've had fingerprint reader issues. Only in bright sunlight

      • Same, fingerprint works fine for me. Would love this phone if it was smaller and thinner, but it's not so I hate it.
