Should be half price since it is already out of date.

seeing the cartons for $120 isn't uncommon

$79 is what I consider a good everyday price, so $59 is nice

      • Yes but shipping kills it for me (Sydney metro)

    $21.61 shipping to ACT :(

pickup is @ Airport West, VIC

you should have sold it at this price at least 3 months prior to the Best Before date. Now you should basically give it away for free with other orders

This is beer, not hop flavoured fizz. I've one carton of Southwark Old here than will be nine years past the "worst case scenario" date printed on the bottle when I consider checking it…

      • mmmm yummy stout…. I miss finding random king browns of homebrew stout that I had stashed away in forgotten places to age

      • +3

Actually it's brewed at the Stella factory and is owned by InBev, its just mass produced Belgium beer with a fancier label.

I don't believe it's bottle conditioned and no way was it shipped cold from EU, so it's gotta be pretty ordinary by now. Should sold at this price a month ago.

  • Yay it's garunteed to be past its best for a low (well… lower) price.

  • pretty poor practice to sell anything past expiry date

  • How does the taste change for something past best before?

      Hello DJMM

there is no difference on the Taste still taste fresh as we sell a lot in our store

With beer YMMV as far as best before dates go. Beers that are bottle conditioned and kept cool will generally be drinkable. Hop forward beers like Pales, IPAs, etc. will taste best when first brewed but their flavour will diminish overt time. More bitter and darker beers, particularly when bottle conditioned, can get better with age if they've been looked after.

As per Nalar's comment above this is not likely to beer that ages well.

      • I thought the whole point of an IPA was it could survive a voyage to India.

        • They will definitely be drinkable! It's just these days IPA's tend to have a lot of early addition hops which taste fruity and sweet, it's those flavours which will diminish over time. I suspect that wasn't part of the recipe when they were first shipping IPAs, they would have likely been more bitter and high ABV (also a very good drop).

  • BBD already passed, not a bargain even at this price.

  • How do we feel about the CHIMAY TRIPLE ALE WHITE 330ML BOTTLE CASE OF 24 (https://australianliquorsuppliers.com.au/product/chimay-trip…) Best Before : 12/2019 for $110.00?

    • if it wasn't OOS, it would be very drinkable if cellared well (Chimay are unpasteurised & bottle conditioned)

      but the Blue cellars best

I've tried cellaring the blue a bunch of times. Someone keeps breaking into my house and drinking it.
