Factory Second Refrigerator - Where to Buy?

Hi,

I am in the market for a large fridge (over 700 litre size). Type (2 doors, French type, Side by side doors etc.) does not matter. Want to maximise the refrigeration section volume and minimal freezer section.

The prices have jumped a lot in the last year. So looking at factory seconds. Any one has experience with factory second fridge that they can share and which retailers do you recommend? Prefer Mitsubishi / LG / F&P / Electrolux as recommended by Choice. Current fridge is Australian made Westinghouse (nearly 15 years old) and has been running very well but need a bigger fridge.

Constructive and positive advice on factory second fridge retailers and when and where to buy new OzBargained large fridge welcome.

Thanks in advance to all those taking time to respond.

Chest freezers are meant to be very economical to run, because none of the cold air rushes out when it's open and it's properly insulated on all sides and bottom, only needs to accomodate a door/seal at the top.

Want to maximise the refrigeration section volume and minimal freezer section.

Reads that, then suggests a chest freezer…

      Well done

  • OP just keep a look out on sales on new ones, and look further afield at brands like Hisense (an Ozbargain fave)

Same people who own appliances online.

Stock levels very variable just have to keep checking often.

Also not sure if they ship to Perth.

Contact a repairer. They will have refurbished stock

  • I was going to suggest Grays Online but not sure what kind of selection they’d have in WA. These guys are in Osborne Park and post here occasionally https://checkoutfactoryoutlet.com.au/collections/fridges

Quick google suggests that 700L+ is rare and pricey ($5k+) close to 700L is under $2k.

If you are looking at fridge only maybe consider upright fridge (only) they do make them.

  • If you want maximum fridge and minimum freezer, you don't want a French door fridge, as the freezer is the same size as the fridge (and not very energy efficient either).

  • Check out 2nds World. When we purchased some white goods from them over 15 years ago, they were independently owned, but now appear to be bought out by Harvey Norman.
