Not the lowest ever price, but pretty respectable. Regular shipping is free (at least to me in SA), with express an extra $10. This looks to be part of their "sale of the year" which will end on the 10th. When comparing prices elsewhere watch that you're seeing the NT-USB rather than the USB Mini.

This model seems really well reviewed for what it is, and it's an Australian company which is also nice. Word of warning, condenser mics do have their disadvantages if you've got a loud room/fans/keyboard.

It's my first time posting, so kid gloves please

  • Looks like a pretty good microphone! Video Review (Not Mine)

    • This review guy really knows his stuff too.

Bought one of these about 6 months ago - fantastic microphone!

Word of warning, condenser mics do have their disadvantages if you've got a loud room/fans/keyboard.

If you have an RTX card, nvidia RTX voice makes this a non-issue, regardless of background noise. Machine learning is modern day black magic

RTX Voice, noise suppression in Teams and Discord works great for this mic. I'll have a fan on in the background and I can hear it being picked up when I have my headphones plugged into the mic, but anybody on the other end can't hear a thing except my voice.

As you're right, you can pick up almost everything with this.

I've had my Rode NT-USB for about 4 years now, it's a superb mic. I've used it for home recordings of voice, guitar & drums (all separate tracks) and they came out nicely. I have also used it with a surface pro in the middle of a fairly noisy restaurant to record a meeting, and while you can hear everything else going on around it, the voices were still legible enough to use.

Also RODE is Australian owned and operated.

I've had mine for almost this long, and agree with what you're saying here. It's absolutely fantastic for almost everything at this price point.

Like many others, I've been using mine for WFH meetings and people always mention how good my audio is. The inline headphone jack which you can control how much of yourself you hear is also great. It means you don't end up speaking loudly unnecessarily and annoying your neighbours.

      Highly recommend even at RRP.

  • Just bought the fifine k638a and waiting for it to show up, wondering if I should have waited for this

Check stock before purchasing been burnt twice by them. Not going for a 3rd. (Mic itself is great, digidirect is not)

I price matched at JB this mic when it was on sale at DJcity, so that's an option people.

  • Are these ones good for day-to-day office meetings for good clarity or over kill?

    • +2

Great mic, definitely bordering on overkill for WFH but not if you’re an enthusiast.

    • if your office is quiet or you have crisp/rtx voice it'll be great.

    • +1

clarity yes, in fact, it's so clear it picks up your entire house and the cars passing by your house at speed and all police sirens.

It's definitely a mic that needs an additional supporting setup to pick up way less background noise or you need to enable software, but if you just want a plug and play mic for clear voice only for WFH, you better get a dynamic mic instead. (This one is a condenser)

Seeing as this is digidirect, would they actually have stock on hand to ship out within a reasonable timeframe? There were comments on previous digidirect deals about this

    • +1

ive never had issues with digidirect not having stock though i've always bought from their ebay store

      • +1

eBay stock levels are accurate. They always say we don’t have an easy way of implementing stock levels and they want to provide people with the best priced product. Whilst the latter may be true the fact is there is no way of people leaving bad reviews for their website through the store itself. eBay however you must give the buyer a shipping date and their customer satisfaction would be tanked. They are a dodgy company who values you a profit not the customer. If you really want to buy from them and need the item asap purchase though eBay otherwise it’s OOS if it’s not on their eBay store.
