    Damn that Seiko looks clean.

    • I know right. That two-tone face stands out.

    • +2

Looks good, but I think there are very few who can pull it off. It's a huge watch on paper and even more so on wrist.

      • +1

Ultimately lug to lug is what matters and Seiko have done well here with only 47mm which is about the same size as a Rolex Submariner or a Speedy and no one says either of those watches are big, especially for a tool watch. So it's not huge, unlike that 52mm watch that some guy claimed fit his 7" wrist perfectly the other week.

        • You're 100% correct. If I'm not mistaken, this is a pretty thick watch as well. I had to sell my seiko turtle as it was top large even for my wrist which is slightly larger than 7 inches.

      • My thoughts exactly

      • Yes big and heavy, still looks ok.
Wonder why markings are now to the 20 min mark instead of 15 min (as per iso minimum for diver's watches)?

God damn it that Seiko looks good. Must. Not. Buy.

  • Citizen Eco-drive but in green… I don’t think green will be that popular.

Secondly which is better: Mineral, hardlex, or sapphire lens?

    • +2

I think it depends on the usage. I.e. if you wear it in a tough environment, Hardlex (and mineral) don't shatter. Sapphire is top-tier sort of lenses, and are more scratch resistant, but can shatter.

Also note Seiko Hardlex is a proprietary thing, so most other brands use mineral for equivalent timepieces

Edit: found this which might be helpful

You ranged them exactly how it is. Sapphire is the best, mineral is the softest cheaper option. Hardlex is something in the middle made by Seiko.

    • Well, sold out so nothing to decide.

  • That turtle is tempting, but am waiting for the samurai to go on sale again

Thanks OP. Picked up a Batman Turtle. Been eyeing this since release and this is such an awesome price!

  • The King turtle is also a great deal and very tempting

  • i'm always tempted by the BM7480 every time it pops up on these weekend sales. nice lume….and why does that chapter ring in white have to look so good?

    • +1

You should grab it for this price. I think it would look good on you :)

  • Batman Turtle now sold out.

  • +1

    Seiko misaligned chapter ring

    • That's fairly typical.
Even the pic on the website looks like the markings or text is out.

  • I shouldn't look at these deals. Not that I wanted that citizen, but because I found one that I now want!

I have two watches being sent to me, I don't need any more

    • Nice, how many watches you up to now :P?
I think I'll stop at 6 (one more spot left in the watch box), another diver be good of the Seiko/Orient/Citizen or Steeldive variety.
(the plastic watches can stay loose (2x G-shock, 1x Casio and 1x Fitbit)

      • I think I'm upto 15. But I'm looking at selling some. Most of them are casio's of the cheaper end. I have a steeldive and can't recommend it enough, it's a cracker.

        • Nice, i thikn it's worth doing to get a good collection the more you start to research and narrow in on the styles/models you like
can't say I wear the Casio Royal world time watch really, the GA2100 is good (Army green, don't wear that much but prob keep, and really like the latest G-shock (G5600E-1)
