Materials for a Slip and Slide for The Kids

Hi All,
Has anyone made a slip and slide lately and if so what materials did you use?
Obviously a big roll of plastic is needed but what plastic in particular is going to be best suited?
Looking at a good size one as we have a long piece of sloping land for this.

I used to use builders film which is quite cheap

    • Yep - add in a garden hose and some cheap washing up liquid and you've got yourself hours of fun.
Just a note - don't leave the plastic on the grass for an extended period - particularly in the heat - if you value your grass.

        The slip & slide

  • back it my day it was a big roll of garbage bags with soap and water.

  • Yeah, as others have already commented, the quality of the plastic isn't going to be too important: if it's too rough, add more detergent.

You'll want something that's reasonably thick/tough so that it doesn't rip.
(preferably) Lighter coloured so it doesn't get as hot in the sun.
(ideally) something that you could use again.

    Well Aldi has this.

Not sure if it's worth making it yourself.

    • Thanks for that but I'm thinking 20m long as we have a decent bit of space to use.
