  • hey OP i'm on Optus Plan, ending next week. Can I use this Telstra prepaid starter kit and keep my existing number?

    • yes you can

  • Bought this starter sim kit (express post of course) on 11/1/2022 and I have not yet received :(
    I am in WA.

  • +2

Just a tip for anyone who is already an exisiting Telstra customer on this sim and wants to "recharge" using a starter kit - you can do it without any of the port-out-port-in hassle! No extra sim required!

I did it successfully and also got the 75GB promo bonus data.

    Steps:

    1. Activate the new sim, let it generate a new phone number for you (trying to port from an existing Telstra number won't work here).
    2. Note down the new sim phone number.
    3. Once it is activated, start a support live chat, ask to have your existing phone number (from your previous sim) moved to the new sim.
    4. Support will ask for both phone numbers, then will disconnect your previous sim and start the work order.
    5. That's it. It can take up to 48hrs apparently but in my case it was ready to go within 15min.

The only caveat of doing this compared to just getting a standard recharge is that you will lose your existing data bank from your previous sim. In my opinion this is a small loss as you get to save $$$ by not having to pay $300 for a standard recharge, as these starter kit sim often go for sale as low as $200. And there are often promotions for bonus activation data (such as the current 75GB bonus).

Note: I'm not sure if this is possible if you let your exisiting sim go past its expiry. I did my switch on the 2nd last day of my exisiting sim just to be safe.

    • A bit risk process actually, in particular if your existing service was activate on sieble system. you may get chance that your number might be disconnected, however it does not come to new system instantly and takes quite a few days to fix it, so you don't have your number to use for these period.

If it's telstra to Boost, or boost to boost, never try the above method, as if you get into trouble, you may find no where for help. Telstra to telstra or boost to telstra may much safer.

      • The very first part of my post says "for anyone who is already an exisiting Telstra customer on this sim" - my entire post is regarding Telstra to Telstra, not other carriers

Telstra live chat agent had no issue transferring my Telstra phone number from my existing (about to expire) $300 prepaid service onto another $300 prepaid service (new starter kit).

  • Hi OP,

Haven't had much luck with email correspondence or phone so posting here.

I purchased two Telstra SIM cards from you late last year.

Both my wife and I were on Boost. Mine ported to Telstra successfully but my wife's one had problems.

I emailed and your representative Andrew replied saying if no luck you could help us replace the SIM card . I asked where do we send the SIM card back to but haven't heard back yet. That email was sent on 5 Jan.

Can you please help us out?

    Thanks

    • msg me the order number and I'll follow this.

Pls not try call that mobile number, sms him instead and he will respond. just too many missing calls I guess.

  • This website has not much info ?
Anybody bought sim from here and is this genuine ?

    • You may check customer's feedback of my other posts, we have advertise and selling boost and telstra sim cards for long time.

  • Anyone had luck with using boost starter packs to recharge boost 12 month sims that have run out of data ??..
    Cheers..
