Amazon Prime Expected Delivery Dates at Minimum 7 Days from Today, Significant Number at 10 Days

Anyone else noticed that expected Delivery Dates for Prime members are blowing out?

I cannot find any item showing with an expected delivery date prior to Wednesday Jan 19, and about 30% are showing Friday 21st.

Must be huge issues with getting staffing with the current situation.

  • Found free delivery with prime for Saturday 15.

I'd been eyeing the product a while and price dropped 26% today!

    Thanks OP!

    • Lucky you… I went trawling for 15 mins and didn't see anything before Wednesday next week.

    • Don't be surprised if it gets delayed though. I placed two orders last week. They stated ETA of 2 and 3 days. 7 days later I received 1, other is still not saying dispatched. I'm not too concerned, but the reason I chose those over others was the quick delivery.

      • I've had quite a few instances of item being a day or 2 later than the shown delivery date. Every single time without fail I can get either a $5 or $10 coupon from the customer service rep.

I'm still getting mine delivered within a few days in regional Vic. Even 1 from Qld ordered Friday and arrived today.

  • Also around 10 day delay but noticed they had +$10 delivery option on top of Prime to get it delivered in 1 day.

In general Amazon are pretty conservative on their dates which is good, majority of my packages arrive 1-3 days earlier

Dates have definitely been pushed back, most likely logistics issues. Amazon also over-estimate dates and usually beat them.

  • Ordered something on Saturday, had it delivered on Monday. Helps to live close to a distribution centre. Their estimated date was Tuesday - they're always conservative with dates.

  • Probably under promising and over delivering.

  • Lots of stuff making it next day. Live cost to distribution centre also.

Bought Sony headset and it took longer than a week. Turn out it came from Perth and as it contain lithium it may be road only type delivery.

    Totally depends on the item.
Some things are a week or more. Some things are next day or day after.

  • I was at the Amazon Sydney (Moorebank) FBA centre yesterday. There was inbound goods stacked higher and wider in the receiving docks - the sights that I have not seen since the place opened. I asked the receiving dock guy "How many staff do you have working?" (Inbound receiving staff). The reply, "it was meant to be ten staff, two turned up, eight are off sick. The same thing happened yesterday."
I can't speak for fulfillment centers in other cities, but, Sydney (Moorebank) has been massively impacted with staff getting sick. Mind you, Amazon has the largest fulfillment centre ever built in Australia opening next week in Sydney (Kemps Creek). Let's hope they have enough staff to run it. That may sort out delivery times rather quick. From what I have seen, I am amazed Amazon is doing as well as what they are with the impact on staffing.

  • I ordered something Monday and got it today on free prime

My stuff is usually delivered ahead of the estimated delivery date - including several orders delivered this week. An order from Amazon UK was received within 7 days - ordered on 4 January! Full disclosure: I am in Brisbane. Results may vary for other states.
