Good really spicy chips?

Been chasing some decently hot potato chips or similar and having a tough time off it. Want something thats going to actually burn and that my kids wont eat due to the heat :)

The flaming cheetos are ok but the texture is a bit off and jeez it gets stuck in your back teeth..

Hot doritos are ok, but just ok.

Got some Nissin spicy chips today that arent too bad but a bit expensive.

Tried the Orion chips at Woolies and ,while tasty, the spice level is a joke considering it has "omg hot" on the pack…

Figured maybe someone has encountered some good Asian chips that pack a real spice punch?

Not keen for the one chip challenge haha.

these are good. they have a number for different spicy flavours but this is best

go to Chinese shops or Coles and woolies some times

  • If you get the chance to
    Try these Indian crisps

They are quite good in my opinion. Manufactured by Lays.
You can get’em at most Indian grocery stores.

i take it you've tried kettle chilli?

    • This. It's pretty spicy to those averse to chilli.

Of course, if you are a strong chilli eater, sprinkle in dried thai chillies (from asian stores; the supermarket ones are weak) to spice things up.

It was much spicier pre-current version

    • Second this. They are hot. And I eat a lot of fresh and pickled chili type foods so am no amateur. And if your kids do eat them, well you've done well in parenting coz your kids have broad tastes.

It depends on your spice tolerance. I find these weak, very weak. My wife finds it super hot!

My suggestion for the OP is

        https://www.joysdelights.com.au/products/rebel-chipotle-hot-…

Hottest chips I’ve tried, would class it as borderline enjoyable, but not so hot that you can’t enjoy it!

        • I remember when I was a kid (year 2 or 3) I found these chips really spicy. But now not so much.

My nephew from korea came a couple of years ago and he could eat these chips with no issue at all. And no joke he was like 4 years old LOL/.

    • There’s also an Aldi version of these which I slightly prefer. Not super hot if you’re used to a lot of chilli but probably enough to keep kids out of them.

      • I prefer the Aldi one too. Blackstone Chili, if I remember right. Hits the right kind of spicy for me.

Used to be more spicy but they have tamed it over the years.

      • This, I probably wouldn't lump them into "really spicy chip" category. Still a fan though.

Asian supermarket honestly, there is dozens of hot pot and szechuan chips

DIY, by adding your own chilli powder to a pack of salted chips and shake in the bag.

  • Keep your snacks in your room.

    Paqui Tortilla Chips

    • This is correct. Go to those overpriced corner shops that sell American and other imported products. There's always tons of spicy chip flavours and they'll be way hotter than any Doritos/Cheetos stuff. Give it a go for a once off craving.

Recently I had Doritos Flmaing Hot Cheese Supreme from Costco, I thought it's pretty good. And yes to Kettle Chilli - I tried once similar one with from Aldi under different brand.

  • Wasabi Doritos were quite hot from memory.

You might have to wait for 2022.

  • If you want spicy go fire chicken noodles, chips won't satisfy you there.

These are delicious..they are still not as hot as they look but ridiculously good https://www.joysdelights.com.au/products/herrs-carolina-reap…

    • I second this! Very very good!!

  • American Cheetos XXTra Flamin Hot (its the spicier version of the regular hot cheetos)
