So I am considering to renew my David Jones Amex express card which is 10 months old.
Last august 2021, it seemed they offered me 60,000 bonus points if I upgraded to platinum (via an email)
I like my fashion and a frequent shopper at Dj. I work nearby and walk down during lunch and in true ozb style buy stuff only when it’s on special.
With the platinum card, you get free tailoring and more points per shop. I would actually use the complementary tailoring option often enough. (Last year I spent at least $150 for trouser alterations etc)
So what’s the chances of me being able to upgrade to platinum and try to claim the 60,000 points deal even though I m well past their offer expiry?
Is Amex negotiable like that?
Should I threaten to cancel and walk away and try what they offer?

Not how Amex usually works, to the best of my knowledge. They have 70k bonus points on right now and it states "Available to new David Jones American Express Platinum Card Members only." - so you should be eligible to apply.
