I am always tempted when these come up on special, but the recommendations always seem to be that the cordless version is so much better to use (even from those that own both). Haven't seen a special price on the cordless one yet.

    • Depends on how you use it and what for imho. I have the corded 4000 with the flexi head https://i.imgur.com/duvU04g.jpg

So the Dremel hangs on the pegboard on the work bench and just gets used to turn it off/on and adjust the speed. Using the little flex head is heaps better to hold then both the corded and cordless Dremels.

  • Yeah the cordless ones look great. I think if I was going to use one frequently that’s what I would have gone for, but for the occasional cutting/grinding task I can deal with a power cord.

    • Dremel Lite 7760 this one ? its 100$, surely it is lower power, but is this better value?
personally not using it for anything heavy duty coz I got my angle grinder. you rekon this one is better for me ?

      • I was looking at the 8220 which has more power and a replaceable battery. Value for these tools depends very much on the use case of the individual and what attachments/accessories you need, as well as what other tools you have at hand.

Dremel are most likely the best and indeed I own one but for most things I just use a 12V cordless version I got from SCA last year - it's often on offer at $60/70 and is part of their 12V tool range which is surprisingly good.

    • How about the corded one from sca? Is this good? I waiting for it to drop below $40.

Ozito 42 piece for $49.98 for the occasional use? I understand this is better quality but any difference for the occasional use?

  • Under 50 dollyroo's does it for me +1
