        Lost me on that too…

I think it's better for your sales if instead of copy paste a tag line "aromatic hop character" you tell us how it actually tastes after its boat journey and year on a shelf (not fridge)

We have been storing this beer since we received it in our large temperature controlled room.
It has not been stored in ambient temperature. We have tasted it and believe that it is still drinking well. As it is also a 7.2% ABV beer, this acts as a wonderful preservative in of itself.

Shipping to Victoria $15 has stopped me

    • Agree, any chance you guys wave the shipping to Victoria?

      Per case. No deal

  • 7.2% ABV not bad , order one slab

  • It's not really "save $120" when the beer you're buying is 2 months past it's BBD. I doubt what's in these bottles even resembles the original beer.

  • I'm best before 2001

This beer will be way past its prime drinking…

The bbd are already overly generous.

Beer is best had writing within 6 months of bottling… Bbd dates usually extend for 12-18 months of bottling.

Quality/taste is further degraded by poor storage during any part of its life in a bottle.

I'd avoid this given $48 can buy a case of any regular beer from your local bottle shop

It’s hardly regular beer and BBD are not ‘overly generous’ that’s just your opinion, not fact. In reality they should be different for every type of beer. IPA’s were hopped beers designed bed to overcome transportation issues before refrigeration was available. The OP has said they have tasted and stored well, please be charitable and give them a little credit.
I bought a lager from a post on this website when COVID started as its BBD was 6 months and its time was up for $1/can that was originally destined for festivals, it drank well 6 months out of date.

To clarify i wasn't saying the OP beer is regular beer, but for the price you could obtain a case of regular beer that is in date and you know what it'll taste like.

I haven't ordered from this merchant but I have ordered beer online before. 99.9% of the time they (other merchants) do not use refrigerated trucks and shipping depots when it's on its way to you.
Cub is notorious for this and their beer always arrives banged up and short expiry. Never again.

Anyone local to Adelaide might be worth trying this deal out, but for anyone interstate I'd caution

I think I agree that the best before won't be a big deal with this beer. The man flavours are about bitterness, not the fruity hops from a neipa style.

      • I have ordered, its arrived, i have drunk it and still alive…actually its nice for the money and brings back memories of Greene King beer, there is something different about the water

Drink coopers and you don’t have the trouble with expired beer! Coopers is always BEST AFTER…

    • Coopers is always BEST AFTER…

Best after 5 drinks when you don't care what you're having anymore yes

  • paying regular price for expired beer?

  • +1

Still expensive for an expired case of beer. The way beer bottle sizes have shrunk over the years is a scam. From 375ml to 345ml to 330ml.

  • +1

I haven't had this, but if you are expecting a fruity pale ale with extra bitterness, like the American style IPAs popular over the last few years, I'd give this a miss.
Greene King is a pub chain which makes English style beer, with little of the fruity hops that has driven the popularity of the style.
This one perhaps is an exception, but I would be cautious.

I wouldn't pay $4.80 for this. Not even a deal for expired beer. Thanks and good night.

For $48 a heavy 7.2 % beer. I see the value. Most beers sitting in my cool room have been 4-6 months post BB. if I could get a case to Margaret River south of $10 postage I would consider. In saying that We are spoilt got choice for bespokes in the south-west

  • almost $65 delivered to Melb - noooo thank you

  • Happy with the deal but delivery kills it. 50 delivered I am your guy :)

Great for people in Adelaide though!
