Cheap but Useable Tablet for Office Use - under $100

Hi all,

Trying to find a cost effective tablet option for once a day use as a covid induction to display QR code.

I am trying to keep budget under $100 each, I need a total of 5 tablets and needs to be at least 8" display

There are a lot of cheap and nasty ones in this price point. Any assistance in weeding through to find something usable would be a massive help.

Any help appreciated!

Why not just price it out?

$100 buys you a lot of paper

    • Yeah unless they dont have access to a cheap laser printer. There is nothing more frustrating than a crap tablet/phone. Though I imagine they just need to get to the photo album and display a photo?

Go to officeworks and have a play I guess. Being a LASER product I am 500% sure it is a piece of crap but ..you're just displaying a photo soooo.

      • It need todo some basic interactive functions like type name into field box etc..
        So that rules out printing

Things that you didn't say you needed to do in your first post…. you said you only wanted it to display a QR code.

@JimmyF: we were supposed to read between the lines, and outside the lines, and on the next page, and chapter.

Many printers for under $100…… But seems the OP is now suffering scope creep, so a print out won't work for them.

Have you used this one personally, the reviews are quite bad.

      • Hi,

For your stated price point of less than $100ea there isn't much in the 10in space.

I used one to check E-mail on a Browser and it was OK, but nothing taxing it.

For your stated purpose, it should cope.

Maybe buy 1 and if it can't cope, return it.

If I see anything better I'll post an update.

With 1 GB of RAM it will be bad as a tablet for daily driver usage / multi-tasking but if you're only going to run a single app… it might be acceptable.

        Emphasis on might.

At the $130~$149 price point you could buy the Lenovo Tab M8, which is a 8" device with 2GB RAM. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/lenovo-tab-m8
