1080p Gaming Card Advice Please

As someone who has historically been a console gamer, does not understand the benefits of RT and Dlss, and who will be happy with comparable graphics to ps5/xbsx at 1080p, what gfx card can I get away with? Mainly a single player gamer and probably the biggest deal for me is hitting 60fps on current games. Second hand is fine to save a few bucks. Looking at buying myself a couple of years of gaming tops.

The RTX3060ti would be the most affordable Nvidia card to get the best 1080p performance that's equal and even superior to the Series X and PS5.

    RX6700XT on the team AMD.

GTX 1660 would be the absolute lowest you should go. Anything better than that will give you better performance and last you longer.

PS5 is equivalent to an RTX 2070’ish.

Don’t ever buy second hand GPUs. You don’t know how overworked they could be by miners or damaged through over clocking etc. You’ll want warranty coverage.

The 1660 does not have RT, DLSS and will age far quicker than a RTX card. Definitely not comparable to a PS5 or Series X.

Forget about getting a new RTX2000 series card in 2022, it's dead. Avoid second hand.

  • RTX3060TI or at least RTX3060 if it well much cheaper

I game on 1440 with my 6600xt. Works great. At 1080, perfect.

  • gtx 1070ti

  • I'm not an expert, nor am I as discerning or perhaps as demanding as others here - but my old GTX 1080 still works perfectly for most games in the last few years at ultra high settings, even most new games at a mix of high-ultra settings at 1080p, 144hz refresh rate without too many hiccups.

Since 1080's are no longer available, an Nvidia 1660 would probably do the job - or the equivalent AMD GPU, depending on the rest of your build. If you want RTX though, you're going to want an Nvidia. It really depends on your budget, and how long you want to wait until you upgrade. But unfortunately you're buying a GPU at the worst time ever right now.
