Looking for an Induction Wok

I’m looking to get a good quality wok, I have seen a lot online with varying prices. I want to pay the ozbargain price if possible.

I also don’t know what to look for when it comes to Woks.

You can get a Scanpan Classic Induction Wok 32cm for around $140 from Peters of Kensington.

    Looking for an Induction Wok

Lots of companies are hiring. Have you looked at Seek?

  • Carbon steel is perfectly induction compatible. Go to your local Asian supermarket and buy a wok that fits your induction cooktop, probably like $30

problem with a normal thin carbon steel wok is that it has a very small flat base.

induction only heats up the flat base and not the edges (it does heat the sides via conduction). It does work very well with gas where the flames cover the sides for even heating but not induction.

therefore you need a thicker wok.

      • why thicker wok for induct?

Because it needs the thickness for the heat to travel upwards

  • I've been using this one for the past year and have been impressed by the results and even more impressed by the price. No specs on the kind of metal, it is not teflon coated so have been blasting it on high on our gas stove. It was on special for $16 last year and have two as back up but it's still looking as good as the first day we bought it.

Only issue was buying a lid for it which costed more than the wok.

    • is it nonstick?

    • is it good for induction?

  • How is it a wok if used over induction stove?
    Woks are for flame stoves!
