Netflix via Turkey through VPN - Payment Error

Anyone is using Netflix subscription via Turkey?

I tried using Nord VPN. Worked well and I opened the site. But while making the payment, it is throwing payment error.

Any idea how to resolve that?

save your cc details first and let account expire
then renew with turkish giftcard instead, then when it runs out it will default to cc.

source: I had same issue and that's how I got around it.

Apparently you can also talk to CS and ask them to give manual credit card update form but some people did say they had issues with CS allowing this.

    • What is CS?
And, where can I save CC details? I am creating a new account, so it is not expired.

Just put in cc details then cancel the trial and use the trial first

        • I'll try this…

I had a payment issue where it wouldn't process my card after my card expired and it wouldn't accept my new saved card, I ended up removing the card details and using the live chat feature and requested a payment update form which worked, if not you can buy turkey netflix gift cards from https://www.mtcgame.com/en-US/netflix/netflix-hediye-karti

Had this same issue. Ended up buying a 100 TL Netflix gift card and added it to my account. Then it still rejected my credit card so I spoke to CS and they were able to add the card for me.

  • After updating my CC details with new expiry date etc they wanted to SMS me a confirmation code but I couldn't change the Turkey country code to get the SMS
Any ideas what I can do?

    • Hi. I have the same problem, my debit card has expired and now I can't update it (couldn't change the Turkey country code to get the SMS). Did you find a way around it?

      • I have managed to update my payment details via Live Chat. They have sent me a form to update my banking details.

        • Thank you.

After seeing your comment I brought up live chat and told them I can't update my payment details. At first I thought I was SOL because I was being told about text verification, but then she went on to ask me a few questions and sent the private form.

From start to end, about 15 minutes.

      • Looking for a work around for the same issue, Please update if solution is found.

  • Can't seem to be able to change credit card details, even through the chat form method, either keep getting the error message that it can't process the payment method right now or being told in the chat that the credit card was rejected for some unknown reason. Also tried with VPN to turkey both on and off while doing all of this. Ended up just buying a turkish gift card for now and see if can try again once it runs out.

    • not uncommon that payment fails, if you have cc details saved it will charge it once any gift card etc runs out, otherwise setup an aussie account ensure you have cc details entered then let the account expire / cancel sub then allow a day and login using a vpn for turkey and restart the account

      • Yeah seems like I may have to switch it back to an aussie acc first then redo the whole process again. Just gotta wait for the existing gift card credit to run out first.

        • if you have correct cc details entered and have a turkey giftcard running at the moment then I suspect that once the gc runs out it should charge your cc fine, the problem I've found in the past is if it is trying to charge your cc there & then (either when you reactivate or update) it declines for some reason

          • @Irishness: Nah I originally had a credit card attached that has since been closed, which is why I needed to change it. Otherwise everything has been running fine, even updated the expiry date ages back without issue or mobile text confirmation prompt. It was just funny cos even the customer reps in the chat couldn't figure out why it was declining haha.

            • @vawiyoci: ah ok, I had a card that kept declining (problem was netflix end) but went through fine after the expiry of gc but I understand if you cannot enter the details then it's an issue

  • Customer Service told me that my CC on file will automatically update with new Expiry Date details as the Banks trust Netflix as a supplier
I'm waiting to see if it'll work at the end of June

    • Hmmm… I was warned for months (a year?) about transactions on my citibank - It was either Indian YoutubePremium, or Turkish Netflix. Can't remember.
