      • there's various ways you can access TGG commercial, discussed at length here.

    • I just had a look online on the normal good guys website.
      LG 9kg Front Load Washer
      WV5-1409W
      $792.00

This one is coming up as $648 with their own price match discount. $722 with delivery and removal of old machine.

I've signed up for commercial. But waiting for approval. Would the commercial discount be even more?
Or should I pull the trigger on this deal you think?

      • Same here it's showing up as $648 for me as well.

        • Did you buy it? I’m still thinking about it haha.

          • @digitalbath: I think I will, hopefully it's in stock.

            • @akira: I bought it. Says delivery in 3-11 business days for me in Brisbane. Now to stay off ozbargain for a bit so I don't see any other deals on machines haha.

  • I have a front loader and it's pretty good but it does take more than 2 hours for a wash, which is annoying. And it uses hot water (that it heats up). But it also spins the clothes really nicely and that makes hanging them on the line pretty easy and quick.

I think mine is a 10kg but i've got 3 kids so you might not need that.

Beko products have a 5 year warranty which seems to be the best.

I am currently going through a 'everything is breaking' phase so I will probably have to replace my Ariston that I bought maybe 4 years ago because it is starting to do some weird stuff, like occaisionally not turn on and give me an E12 message.

    • 2 kids here, I'll have a look at Beko. Current LG one lasted 10 years.

      • I don't think you'll be disappointed if you go with another LG.

    • If you set it to cold wash it will take much less time as it takes a while to heat up the water.

  • FWIW, got a 7kg electrolux, i paid less than $600, 4 years old, never had any issues.

We have a samsung toploader, had it for 10 years and cost about $500 back in the day.

We have a Hoover top loader that we've had for at least 15 years, and I think might be closer to 20 years. It also cost about $500. No fancy electronics, just dials. We had to replace the agitator about 5 years ago when it developed a crack in the plastic. We bought a new agitator online for about $100. We just pulled out the old one and put the new one in ourselves. That is the only thing that has ever gone wrong with it. Top loaders can be very long lasting.

I had a technician over to look at my 6 year old washing machine that I wasn't ready to just throw away. He told me it was cooked. I asked him if it's worth buying a premium one 'to last longer' instead next time. He said 'no'. Give-or-take; the cheapies and the premiums don't really have a guaranteed life outside that 6-8 year mark.

Yes — queue all the comments about "my Meile has lasted me 15 years!"… this was not the technicians experience with repairs. Outliers exist on both sides of the arguement.

I replaced mine with a $299 Hisense on special, and it's lasted 3 years and going strong! Hopefully it gets many more, as the ewaste concept doesn't sit too well with me.

this was not the technicians experience with repairs

Of course not, he wouldn't be called to come and fix them… so his stats are biased.

Yeh, like the planes coming back with holes in the wings

edit: but even still, if he is repairing broken premium then it's a valid point

We recently bought this one. Love it. Really quiet compared to our old Simpson. Lots of cycle options.

For well under $1000 you can buy detergent for $5, fill the laundry sink and hand wash. Before dissing my budget saving idea and you never actually tried it give it a go.

  • Just got an LG, works great even plays a nice song when done.
Can’t figure out how to use the app though

  • Hi,

I don't have access to the TGG Commercial, would someone be able to help buy for me or I can use their account? Not sure how this works
