Recommend a 2in1 for Elderly Person, Budget $700- $800

hey folks,
been a while since I bought a non MSsurface product. This is a for elderly person, who will use it for youtube, web browsing and maybe transfer their holiday photos once a year.

any recommendations, ive had a look at jb, tgg, HN and nothing seems to stand out, they all seem to be priced under $600 or +$1000
happy to wait

brand: any of the big brands, except acer
store: prefer Jbhifi so can price match
processor: i5/AMD equivalent
RAM: 8GB (happy to buy a 4gb machine and stick an extra 8gb stick to make 12gb)
screen: 14/15/15.6 1920 resolution
SSD: 128GB
Touch screen:
windows based
irrelevant stuff: weight, hdd, ports, usbc, battery life

thanks for your help:)

Does it need a keyboard with uppercase capabilities?

sorry, i am not aware what that is :(

      • A shift key or caps lock key. Is grandma fine with typing only in lowercase.

    • Hang on, your question implies there's a keyboard that doesn't?

Whatever OP used to create this post didn't seem to have a full keyboard

  • SSD beats an HDD anyday… 250GB or 500GB

  • iPad you should consider if ease of use is a factor. File manager will let you transfer photos to or from a USB, but they will probably stop doing that when they see how easy it is to get images through email or messaging or Facebook. And iPad and bluetooth keyboard or keyboard case costs a lot less than an all in one that will feel just as fast. A 4GB All in One running Windows 11 is like giving someone brain damage while using their devices.

Google seems to be giving up on YouTube Premium and giving us back PiP for YouTube soon, something that has been built into iPad for years.

    • we gave them an ipad years ago, but they struggled big time with it and refused to use it after a week, we ended up selling it for them

That's because they wanted to use uppercase and you hadn't taught them how to.

Would they consider a chromebook? Does everything you have asked for easily, faster to startup and harder to stuff up.

The 8Gb is just under $800 at the moment https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-due….
