      K-Mart Anko?
      or
      Big W Anker?

      • W Anker for the win

    • anker is also shit at times.

Thanks, I was after some info on comparing power bank ratings just recently and this covers it well

  • I liked your breakdown here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3smUBbSadU

But it didn't talk about the screw bits, which one's magnetic, how weak that magnetism is, etc etc…

  • i build my own using recycled 18650 batteries received from laptop batteries, and purchase powerbank cases from aliexpress.

test the batteries with a LiitoKala Lii-500 tester so I know the true capacity.

also decent laptop batteries will use brand name 18650s batteries e.g. samsung.

    powerbank case (5 x 18650 ) $6 delivered
    powerbank case (8 x 18650 ) $8 delivered

(examples of powerbanks cases are just examples -and are probably not the least expensive available)

    • while in theory this is a good idea; by buying a branded powerbank you're also getting the better electronics.
QC/PD charging etc and also even just efficiency gains.
xiaomi always talks about 95% efficiency or something in their promotional materials.

buying the cheap crap from aliexpress is just rolling the dice on that although you've covered the back end with good branded batteries.

best idea is to buy branded powerbanks that use 18650 batteries that you can recycle yourself should they run down in power.

however most newer powerbanks are starting to move away from 18650 batteries.
