  I've been playing this game for the last couple of weeks and it's honestly mediocre.

  The SAS combat system is cool but you can't block and dodging is kinda half-arsed. Combat itself is quite floaty. Characters are your typical anime archetypes. The storyline is poorly explained - in particular, the opposing countries.

  The upside is that the game doesn't take that long to finish on both routes but I've just been dragging it out due to boredom and because I want the platinum.

  I'd just stick to Bandai Namco's Tales of series at this rate.

    I bought it on release and enjoyed it a lot. Granted, story is lacking and the execution wasn't really well done.

    The combat was satisfactory for me… I do agree it gets repetitive and the cracks start to show by the time you're forced to drag it on for the platinum.

      I couldn't take it seriously when bad things happened to the characters or when they revealed their motivations. It was just mediocre - I didn't give a shit because of how the story was executed was so poor.

      Also, considering some of the subject matter (beheadings, body monsterification, fame, etc), it was immediately glossed over and the characters immediately moved on without caring.

      Despite similar visuals, Tales games hit a lot harder when it came to themes and character motivations.

  It’s also on gamepass for anyone who has that!

  I like it, the story is pretty meh and the cutscenes are long and bland but the combat is super fun!
