Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i WiFi Problem

Hi Team,

Bought a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i 14ITL05 2-in-1 for a staff member at work from Officeworks in September and in the last month the WiFi has randomly stopped.

https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/ideapad/flex-series/Ide…
Similar to what I got but its the 16GB version https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-ide…
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-ide… is the original link but is now a 404.

Even a full reset and windows refresh hasn't had much luck. Officeworks randomly got it working by doing a troubleshoot process even though that had been attempted.

Does anyone know of such an issue before?

It's really turning me off Lenovo. Had 2 other Lenovo's no problem, and now this one is causing me grief.

Anyone got an idea or experience?

Is the wifi driver up to date?

Is it using a Microsoft or manufacturer or generic driver?

Did it occur after a W11 install?

    Also, username doesn't check out.

    • Should've said I have done all the usual stuff.

Is the wifi driver up to date?

Is it using a Microsoft or manufacturer or generic driver?

Lenovo have shortages for Wifi Cards and have been putting in random card they have access too, Run the Lenovo Bridge/Vantage Tool from the support page and it will find the right driver. Best update anything else which is outdated. Pm me if you need further help

    • Great, thanks, we will give it a go.

The staff member was going to call Lenovo to run it over with them before going through the other Warranty items.

Turns out it was a driver issue. The staff member fixed it.

Run the Lenovo Bridge/Vantage Tool from the support page

She did this and there was nothing found unfortunately.

  • Lenovo Bridge/Vantage Tool is the tool that updates finds drivers issue and repairs/fixes which looks like what it did, It may have had the correct driver downloaded but not in use. Windows does not look for the best driver only when no drivers are found it looks, Sometime you just need to delete the assigned driver from windows and reboot, then it locates the later driver on login. But looks like Vantage did it on its cycle

But I find it hard to believe it found nothing, Drivers are updated so often there is always something :)

  • Get someting like this, it will fix all your problems
