AliExpress Xiaomi Store: Bought Redmi Note 9 Pro 64GB in November 2020 - Now Bootloop Issue and No Warranty Support

Bought the Note 9 Pro through the Xiaomi Official store on Aliexpress late November 2020.

Now, 14 months later, it is stuck in a bootloop nightmare and won't launch at all. Unsurprisingly Xiaomi has said 'too bad, its out of the 1 year warranty'. I pointed out that it was only two months outside warranty, and that a product like this should last more than a year - but obvs they don't care.

I guess that's what you get buying on Aliexpress.

Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone have any ideas on what to do - either to get support from Xiaomi, or to fix the phone?

That sucks but yea, that's what you get when buying grey market imports.

Try looking at XDA or other forums for a custom flash firmware or something. Maybe can install stock Android on it somehow if lucky.

Else, time for a new phone!

He doesn't have to. The phone is already doing it for him.

  • You know what they say….

You pay cheap, you pay twice

    • Lasted 14 months… Probably paid around $280? Sounds cheaper than buying an iPhone. Gotta hold it for five years to get that sort of value.

Tried restarting in recovery (hold volume up on restart)
Or in bootloader (hold volume down on restart)
If you can get into either of these, then you can try a factory reset (from recovery)
Or reflash using fastboot (from bootloader).

      This is the right answer.
