Do Total Tools Referral Actually Work?

Hey guys,

I have used the following referral generator on OzBargain for Total Tools: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/api/referral/834
when signing up for a new (Insider Rewards) account on their website.

For the Referral Code field, I used a randomly selected code from the above API.

It has been more than 48 hours, but the referee credits have not been credited.

Did I miss a step somewhere?

Or, is it possible that referrals do work, but a lot of the codes on OzBargain are simply dodgy / invalid?

I will be going ahead with my purchase in any case, but it would be good to know what went wrong.

    Total Tools are a shitshow. The last time I ordered something from them, they missed the delivery times. Weeks of constantly chasing and getting zero updates, they gave me a refund after 5 weeks of zero delivery. 2 weeks after that the item gets delivered. They were bloody quick to get in touch with me to charge me again. Zero attention to detail, (profanity) all support.

    They may have a well priced promotional item once in a while, but it ain't worth the hassle.

    I find Total Tools to be overpriced and poorly serviced. They don't seem to want to compete with newer stores like Sydney Tools on price and seem to just rely on brand recognition with the older generation and the odd promotion.

    Yes you do get a $10 on signing up with a referral but I remember mine being more like 3 days for the credit to show up. The most stupid part is though is that the referrer gets absolutely nothing.

      Mods will need to update the referral box as it currently states:

      $10 credit for referrer and referee.

    Finally got a response from them today.

    Thank you for contacting Total Tools.
    As per advised by Insider Team, unfortunately, this promotion is not currently running.

    Great! If you are no longer running the RAF promotion, why fool people by showing a Referral Code form field during the sign up process??? 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻

    I stopped going there after a hassle of a refund process for 1 day day old dremel. They interrigated me and had all the staff take a look then question me with there be opinion. I spent 1 there in 2 weeks around 1 to 2byears back and never gone back since there dogs. I do my shopping at Bunnings now because there refund process is less a hassle.
