Hisense TV No Picture

I have no picture on my Hisense 55 inch TV, but sound is working fine. It's out of warranty. Any recommendations on whether it's worth getting it fixed or just sell as non working. No damage to the screen, just picture went in middle of a show. When it's turned on the Hisense name comes up in blue then slowly fades into green then disappears. I'm in south west Sydney.

Blown or bulging capacitor? Was there a bang before the picture turned off? Electric burning smell?

Could be $2.97 to fix it diy if you want to have a crack. If not - bin it.

    how old is it?

    • Approx 4 years old

      • Hisense comes with 3 year warranty.

I believe there's a fair chance they will fix it for free if your TV is 4yo.

      • Mine just died today.

It's about 3 years and 4 months old. Black screen, sound working. I suspect a problem with the backlit LED strip.

I'm gonna try and fix myself, if still broken just chuck out and never buy Hisense again

    I'm in south west Sydney.

That could be the problem right there…

    • Oh ok. Why?

  • The first thing you could do is google something like "hisense 55 no picture". You never know, someone else might have had the same problem.

    • OK, I'll give you another hint. If you google what I said there are a videos that tell you what tricks do actually usually fix problems Hisense TVs with sound but no picture actually have. They aren't speculations about possible blown capacitors or other hardware problems. They are actual fixes. You know, things you'd do before you pulled it apart or threw it away.

        Why talk in riddles?

        Just link the YouTube videos.

        Bloody weird.

      • Did all that. Tried everything that was suggested.

  • The initial logo display and fading is a sign of an undamaged screen which is a good sign. As mentioned above it could be a leaked cap or something similar in the logic board or backlight driver circuitry. If you are confident you can give it a crack and or if you are lucky you can find the full logic board on Aliexpress for a easy swap. All of the above would be worth if the TV was a high end model at the time of buying (worth few thousand dollars) and no more than 5 years old. If it was a $800 Hisense bought 8 years ago just turf it and get a new one.

    • Ok. Probably just a $600 one knowing my budget. Wish I was electronically minded. Only thing I know about is cars. I'll try to find a man who knows more than a mere woman :-)

  • I agree most likely blown caps. Even if not, worth just taking it apart to have a look if the caps are blown cos it's easy fix.

    • I agree most likely blown caps

      EASY TO FIX.

  • There's a thing called and implied guarantee on consumer durables in Aus. Got my GF a new OLED panel installed in her 4 yr old LG that had a massive green area in the middle.

LG tried to worm out of the repair but after politely insisting that I wanted to exercise my consumer guarantee they came to the party.

The repair tech that visited said the panel value as a spare part was $1900.

    Know your rights. Good luck!

  • I'm having a similar issue with my 3 year, 3 month old Hisense TV.. they said sorry it's a 3 year warranty..

Basically this is what the issue is

Last week my Hisense 55P6 TV stopped working. The TV had been working fine when I turned the TV off via the remote. I went to turn the TV back on 20 minutes later and found the issue. Now the TV turns on fine and shows the Hisense Logo but then shows a black screen with random digital little lines.
