What Would You Pay for a Samsung S21 Ultra 512GB on FB Marketpace?

I'm keen on an S21 now that they have butchered the product line with the S22 release (basically a Note now).

Listing is for $1500 which is obviously too high but I'm curious what this community would pay.

-Brand new in box
-Receipt for Samsung Aus so not grey market (assuming not a scam).
-512gb which is reasonably hard to get these days
-Relatively rural qld so likely not many other keen buyers for a niche phone like this.

After a year, Samsung prices plummets to ground. And for an open one, i wouldnt recommend paying more than $1000.
    I just bought a 256Gb ultra for $950. that's the standard price.

    • Thanks, yeah 1k was my absolute ceiling too, was just curious if lower would be unreasonable given unopened and 512gb particularly.

Trying to lowball the seller without lowballing? I reckon 900dollaridoos should do it.

On a serious note, are you inspecting on pickup or chancing a brick in the post?

        • Inspecting on pickup, although its in a new box so it might be an awkward affair. All this is assuming he takes a massive price cut in the first place

  • $850 and 20 McNuggets with three sauces of his choice.

    • This is OzBargain - go for a 24 pack with four sauces (as it is cheaper at the moment).

Unless you were planning on doing that already, and taxing him 4 nugs and a sauce?

It's basically luck. You might get a buyer who needs it now but really low

Ha $1500? Way too much even though the S21 Ultra is probably the best all-round phone of 2021, even Phone of the Year in my books. As some have said definitely max $1k, Samsung really butchered their S21 lineup pricing with those insane trade in deals. Receipt from Samsung is good… however, if it is legit and brand new (sealed?) i'd be questioning why it was not simply returned to Samsung for a full refund instead of at a loss? Past the 14 days for return?

As a guide, I'm about to sell my S21 Ultra 512GB (used, but as new condition) to Mobile Monster for $970.

    • Surprisingly good price… but I think with the trade in deals last year when an S21 Ultra was $699 brand new (albeit only 256GB) it's just made it significantly harder to resell at a decent price since people will google it and find the OzBargain page.

The price of the S21 mobiles has held up well in the secondhand market up till now but I think now that the S22 is available the S21 is no longer the flagship model and will drop in price on the secondhand market. Sold listings on eBay are your friend to determine the current secondhand selling prices.
