Why buy two when you can buy 10.

    Thanks OP

    • +6

High yield investment. Will make you about $10 a day

      • You should be buying a $80k car instead!

        • +1

eww don't think you can mine with a car. I know Teslas run Nvidias so maybe they can…

      • How do you make $10 a day with this? Mining ethereum?

        • +1

Yep the A6000 are similar to FHR 3080 90-95MH/s @220w

finally the perfect machine for my candy crush addiction, thx op

    • +1

with this you could use AI to play candy crush for you while you do other exciting things ……

      • Hope it makes in-app purchases on my behalf also.

can I play my minesweeper in 1080p?

  • +1

It only has a VGA port on it. And no wifi. Doesn't even have any bundled games.

    • +2

That’s just the motherboard, each RTX A6000 will have four DP ports.

      • +5

        Facts nvdia.com

Also no sane person would buy this to run on wifi. "2 x RJ45 10GBase-T ports"

  • It took 3mths for warranty last time we had Acer.

  • +1

You don’t get 2 of them - The server has dual CPU

    • -1

      Yeah OP has no idea.

    • +2

didnt he mean 2x RTX A6000?

      • That is what I understood…

        • The specs seem to say dual CPU and a single A6000.

The Intel Xeon 4210R are just 10 core Cascade Lake CPUS on 14nm.

If it's a single A6000 it's a no deal. Looking up the model number seems to indicate this. I think the OP made a mistake.

            @shellshocked:

            • @cristtos: Did you actually select specifications below the description where it only shows a single A6000? I also looked up the model number which says it's only a single GPU.

An A6000 retails for about $8000

              • @shellshocked: Yeah, not sure what to believe. It does say 2x for proc but does not say 1x for graphics.

Academic discussion anyway, I have no idea what one would use this at home for (crypto mining excluded).
I also says "NVIDIA RTX A6000 is available to buy in increments of 1" - so how about 4? would you have enough lanes to use 4? will the power supply cope?

                • @cristtos: It's not cost effective for home or crypto mining, because it's not an efficient system. Crypto mining is all about ROI. There are cheaper GPUs you can purchase with better ROI depending on what you are mining.

If you are just factoring in the GPU, one of the use cases would be machine learning research.

                • @cristtos: Yeah, the fact they don't show pics of the interior populated with GPUs, it's hard to ascertain if it's truly dual GPU.

OP never stated you would get two entire servers, you misunderstood.

Waiting for someone to post part picker

    • Nice, gave me a good laugh

  • Bahahaha it's juts a dual processor. I still run a x58 system with dual xeons

  • No RAID. No deal

  • +1

effing awesome, thanks OP, xmas presents for the extended family sorted! woop

  • Yesterday we built a dual Xeon Gold 6248r, 256GB RAM workhorse for a customer. It's insane. Best part is that the customer wanted it in a standard RGB tower case :)

Good timing, I have been looking out for an upgrade path for my ageing HP N40L Microserver!

  • Can this run Plex?

  • Just in time for Valentine's day

  • Worth it just to get a video card

  • You young whippersnappers have no idea how good you've got in performance/$ these days. If only I had a use for this. Also, didn't you know that the more you buy, the more you save?

  • +1

I'm sure this could also double as a white noise generator.

  • no RGB, pass thanks

  • Acer, biiiig pass thanks

  • Ah, but will it run Crysis on high?

  • Would this be good for VMware horizon cluster setup?
