Woolworths RACQ "Deal Gone Wrong?"

Hi,

Been on ozbargain for a long time and usually in favour but it appears the RACQ woolworths deal has gone sour.
It used to be 5% off and free delivery for members, but since being ozbargained
all RACQ members have to pay an additional $5.50 (more than 5% of $100) when buying gift cards as gifts.
Making it pretty much redundant.

I've seen other member special codes which have been leaked on here before, what are people's thought's on it?
In this case it's had a negative impact on the RACQ member base (pretty big)

    I've just been to the store to look, but there is nothing there to suggest the change you're mentioning. It's still 'save 5%'

      then add the postage of $5.50 (kinda negates any saving right there)

      i actually save 50 cents buying one from a supermarket…
      unless for some reason you get it sent it as an actual gift to a recipient saving you 10 cents ;)

    Even if your claim were true, and Geewhizz throws doubt on it, if RACQ had wanted to secure the deal for members only, they should have asked for the member number at purchase. It's naive to expect that a simple code like that will not spread, even if it's just by word of mouth. The Internet just makes spreading faster. You should know that from your alleged profession.
