Recommend a New Women's Wristwatch for Mrs with a Seconds Hand

Hi OzBs,

Mrs/Dr willyroo does remote medicine, including RFDS. I own an Oris big crown mechanical, and the RFDS Oris certainly caught my attention :)

However she needs:
* utter reliability tending to ruggedness
* second hand
* date
* no bigger than 35mm
* function over form
* I have to research and present a shortlist

I'm pretty well down to Seiko solar, although the Seiko Ladies SXDF67J is everything needed, apart from no maintenance.

Suggestions greatly appreciated…

(edited for clarity - it needs to be new, with a sweep second hand - not "second hand")

      I thought by second hand, you meant not brand new. No one refers to analogue watches as second hand, unless they are indeed, second hand.

      • Me too. Confusing post

  • utter reliability tending to ruggedness
    function over form

    Get a digital watch. Won't necessarily have a second hand but something just as good.

  • Citizen Eco-Drive

  • Seiko Women's Solar Two Tone With Black Dial
    Any experience with this line of Seiko watches?

    Will look at Eco-drive too, thank you.

    • Never had a seiko but can vouch for the eco drives. It’s the same premise, powered by light sources.

    I use Swatch watches. Relatively cheap, silicone options for easy cleaning, free batteries, various sizes and funky looks.

    Take it from a teacher - kids love looking at them and they take a beating.

  • Thanks all - will compile something for her.
